While we have not started an event page yet and it may be a month or two, we wanted to let you know that the 2015 WGA Fall Picnic will take place on September 26th at Pattison State Park, just south of Superior.
Why did we pick a 1 day event so far from the densely populated areas of the state?
1) We are geocachers who cannot wait to go to new and exciting places to explore and discover
2) The end of September will bring the changing of the Fall foliage and what nicer place to see that than against the backdrop of
Big Manitou Falls and Little Manitou Falls.
3) 2 Northernly WGA State Park caches a short drive away. From there you could also easily visit several other state parks or wander over into Minnesota.Let’s celebrate the Northern part of the state and from initial discussions, many are interested in turning this into a mini vacation/overnighter.

Looking forward to attending this picnic and spending some time enjoying the scenery and the caching north of Highway 64.04/16/2015 at 6:34 pm #2038888Some day we’ll get to that part of the state, but probably not until after we retire. Too many places to go and not enough time.

04/16/2015 at 8:48 pm #2038897We can’t make it for the event there this year, but we’re actually camping there this summer! Maybe we’ll load up a cache or two with some glitter…
04/18/2015 at 8:09 pm #2038969I am going to try to make it. I am married to a man with OCD so any change in routine is hard for him. If I approach the subject of me going away for a night slowly he may be able to handle it. I really want to go up there.
04/19/2015 at 8:34 am #2038977It may officially be a one-day event but last time we went farther north (Gov. Thompson) many camped. I’m hoping that we can do that and get a group together up there. Should be a great time!
