If it is a battery issue then why does it only happen to EA and not to Professor? I'd try trouble shooting before buying a new battery.
When it occurred with mine I had spoken to a guy that does programming and knows palm pilots and the operating systems a lot. He had provided me the explanation that I posted above. Since I have been turning it off on my own and not time out mine hasn't done it. |

Yes, there can be issues with the units "Timeing" Out, as opposed to being turned off, there can also be Corrupt Database issues. You could do a full factory Reset, and reinstall your programs to see if that takes care of it, as Diane stated, not all problems are Battery related. Marc's definetely was the battery, it would not take a charge, and last for more than about 10 Minutes, and was always soft resetting.
After more troubleshooting, we can go from there. |

Chuckle....it probably happens to me and not Professor because he doesn't like to "read" the palm pilot. He likes to navigate and hunt them. I get to drive to the cache, read the palm pilot/cache page aloud and then we both hunt it (That's assuming we are hunting together, but since it's prime football season, earth angel has done most of the caching lately.).
Thanks again everyone for your valuable input!
The palm pilot dies on heavy use days. I do turn it on and off alot especially when I have a 25-50+ day of geocaching. So maybe that zaps the battery alot more. Not once has the battery warning screen come up before it shuts down. I just turn it on like I usually do and it stays shut off.
So, has this happen to anyone besides BQ or Ecorangers?
