This is my newest Travel Bug. It's a pop culture icon. (If you don't know what it is you're either too young or too old) Laughing

Look for it in a cache near you!

The Konami/ Contra Code Smile

You may notice that nowhere on this TB does it say "Nintendo". This is a new Chinese reproduction. I wouldn't dare hack apart a genuine controller.

I cut off the cord and glued the TB tag to the back using JB Weld. I think it should hold. I may still put a screw through it for added security.

My idea is that people who used to have a Nintendo back in 1985 should be able to pick up this TB and mash the buttons in (or input the contra code for 30 lives wink ) I'm hoping it should bring back a lot of good memories for a lot of people.

I used to dominate Super Contra...I could still punch in that code in my sleep with my hands tied behind my back. If was not playing Super Contra, it was Guerilla War, or 1942. I should try to find a Nintendo.

I think I am going to be sick.

My mom sold my atari and my nintendo in a garage sale. I had probably 100 games for each...sold them both together for 5 bucks. Never told me, she just said "you never play them anymore, I did not think it would be a big deal" That was many moons ago, but I still have not let her live that one down.

I've got a Nintendo in my closet right now. All it needs is a new 72 pin connector (the old ones turn green and stop reading the cartridges.) I've been meaning to fix it, but just never got around to it. You can buy the connectors on eBay for pretty cheap. If anybody wants to give it a shot I'd be willing to let it go.

Wow, how many hours did I waste (ok waste is the wrong word) on Super mario, Contra and my fav, Gauntlet? I still have some games but the system went bye bye a long time ago.

Love the idea for the TB, and very happy to hear you used a repro.
