Considering I don't live too far away, and since I have a kayak (and no bike or extra vehicle), I'd like to get in on this.

I've got access to an extra kayak (although a shorty that tracks poorly in open water) if someone wanted to use it.

But, we could do some dutch oven cooking for sure!

Now you're talking. When you combine two of my favorite things, geocaching and DO cooking, I'll do my best to be there.

Any further thoughts when this could happen?

The cache owner wants people to sing "You've picked a fine time to leave me Lucille" as they float down the river.

Why don't I just pack the guitar and everyone can sing it together. Or does that rate just a little too high on the lameness scale?

We will reserve judgment on the lameness until we hear your singing, HeliDood! wink

We're going to hold an "American Idol" type competition for who gets to sing.

Ah,

Things have been busy. Mrs. OPS and I have already camped on the Turtle Flambeau this year. Jr. Prom is just over (40 some folks here taking photos) and the other kid will be graduating the first week of June. We have a wilderness cabin in the Porkies booked in May for the family and between the two kids there are eight AP tests to be taken in the next couple of weeks. I'm organizing the building of dock sections for Camp Tesomas through the troop (has to be done three weeks from now) and RickBlick and I are going to attempt to paddle the Wisconsin from Wausau to the Mississippi in early June.

This outing will not likely fit into the schedule until August at this rate. But that doesn't mean it won't happen- just not in the first part of the summer.

If you read the post carefully you'll see that I guaranteed "No bugs or your money back". And as I will not be charging anything for the activity...

Cool

It gives me time to buy that inflatable kayak I covet.

I've been practicing, too.

I've got good news & bad news, though. The bad news is the song is played in 3/4 time. The good news is, I can't sing & play (only play) anything in 3/4, so you're all saved.

The song is incredibly easy to play. Remembering the lyrics is proving to be the hard part.

In a bar in Toledo across from the depot
On a bar stool she took off her ring
I thought I'd get closer so I walked on over
I sat down and asked her name
When the drinks finally hit her
She said I'm no quitter but I finally quit livin on dreams
I'm hungry for laughter and here ever after
I'm after whatever the other life brings
In the mirror I saw him and I closely watched him
I thought how he looked out of place
He came to the woman who sat there be-side me
He had a strange look on his face
The big hands were calloused he looked like a mountain
For a minute I thought I was dead
But he started shaking his big heart was breaking
He turned to the woman and said
You picked a fine time to leave me Lucille
With four hungry children and a crop in the field
I've had some bad times lived through some sad times
But this time your hurting won't heal
You picked a fine time to leave me Lucille.
After he left us I ordered more whisky
I thought how she'd made him look small
From the lights of the bar room
To a rented hotel room
We walked without talking at all
She was a beauty but when she came to me
She must have thought I'd lost my mind
I could'nt hold her 'cos the words that told her
Kept coming back time after time
You picked a fine time to leave me Lucille
With four hungry children and a crop in the field
I've had some bad times lived through some sad times
But this time your hurting won't heal
You picked a fine time to leave me Lucille.
