I am needing some information concerning a geocoin that I own. I have not had this coin out to be discovered in about 6 months yet I received noticed that someone discovered this coin today. I looked at this person's profile page (http://www.geocaching.com/profile/?guid=365426fa-d8e7-4990-b2d4-80a084ac1478) & sent a message stating that it was impossible for them to discover this coin when they said they did.
Here is where I need help if possible. Is there any way for me as the coin owner to remove the log as well as the stat of this person "discovering" it when I know full well there was no way they could have?
Thanks for any & all advise.

If you go to the coin's page and view the log, you can DELETE LOG and that will remove the log, the discovery, and the stat on their profile.
Which coin was it? I didn't see the log anywhere or maybe they already deleted their own log seeing the mistake.
I had one of my Discover only coins logged and I had never shown it to anyone. I thought is a bit odd but I don't think I bothered to delete.
I'd rather have 'em log it and not have it than have it and not log it. |

It is my Moose Forest Coin. I have not put any of my coins out in the wild. I only take them to events to be discovered & ten take them back home with me. |

Is it possible you showed it to people in the past and someone who saw it finally got to logging it today? Maybe they didn't change the date. |

I know I've done exactly what cheeto suggests...written down the number, then forgot to log it until I discovered the numbers on a piece of paper somewhere. |

The other more likely possibility is that they just mistyped a letter and got a different coin then what they intended, by pure chance.
That has happened to me a number of times.

I guess there are all kinds of possibilities as to how this got "discovered". But as Pete suggusted the person has "deleted" the log. I clicked on the link to the log in the email I received only to see the word "archived" & the cacher's coin count is 1 less then when I 1st looked at the stats. Thanks for the help/suggestions. |

I'm with zuma's explanation. Typed in the wsrong #s a few times and got either an unactivated trackable or a trackable I never heard of. The Os and zeros are the killers! |

WE had that happen with a TB. It has been sitting on our shelf since completing it's mission to go to Alaska and return. It had never been to an event and was suddenly "found" in Europe. Not. We asked them to remove the log. Never found out how they found the number. Possibly a typo.
