I've having a hard time keeping my Garmin Nuvi's suction cup mount attached to the window of my car. During the summer, it stays on the windshield with no problem.
But now that the weather is cold, the mount falls off the cold windshield after about an hour even though the window is clean as well as the suction cup itself. Has anyone had an issue keeping their GPS mounted on a cold windshield? What can I do to keep it mounted? |

Put a couple drops of cooking oil on it and it will stay on.

I've done away with all suction cup mounts in my truck. I had the same issue with you with them falling off in the winter. Nuvi would come flying off the window and land in the salty wet mess on the floor. No thank you. I use dash mounts with adhesive and even screws if necessary. |

I am with RJ on this on I stopped using suction cup mounts after my fuzz buster kept flying at me while I was driving down the road. I now use Velcro or double sided sticky tape (servo tape for the RC people) works the best. |

I use the dashboard mounting disk that game with Nuvi. Just like the old suction cup darts I played with as a kid, if you want to make them stick good you have to lick them. It also means no want wants to borrow my Nuvi. |

Ive only had a problem with my handheld suction mount that kept falling off.. But I dont have a problem with the nuvi.. I cleaned the window really well with rubbing alch. then gave the suction cup a good lick and stuck it to the window and there it still is.. |

I use the friction mat for the Nuvi and a Ram Mount in my truck for my Delorme and never had a problem.
Thanks |

Tried this method a month ago, and my mount is still stuck to the window. Great idea and I love the price. |
