The following is information from the coordinator of the CC program:
(If you have questions contact me and I can also supply you with Dolly's contact information)

Quote:
We have two big events in the near future where the ColdCache program will be promoted using "model" glacial features.
* Erehnon Expo at the Glendale Mall (just north of Milwaukee) on Sat / Sun,
May 14th and 15th.

* Wisconsin Outdoor Education Expo at the Beaver Dam fairground on Thur / Fri, May 19th and 20th.

I'm hoping you can help get the word out to GeoCaching participants. There are two things that would be helpful.

1. We could use volunteers to help at the 5 model sites that will be set up
around the mall (outside) and at the fairgrounds.

2. We would like to have additional GPS units to loan out - we would
collect a Driver's License and Credit Card to hold until the unit is
returned.

If anyone has an old GPS unit that they no longer use, a donation to
the Ice Age Trail Alliance could be documented for a tax deduction.

Anyone interested in volunteering, or loaning or donating a GPS unit, can
contact Karen Malhiot at the Ice Age Trail Alliance. As the Education &
Outreach Manager, she is coordinating both of these events. Phone:
608-798-4453 or 800-227-0046 E-mail: karen (at) iceagetrail.org

We went to this interesting, but poorly promoted event today. The Erewhon website had very little detail about specifics. It turns out that there was a large enclosed tent with the vendors in. We did see some interesting products there. There may have been more promotion for the Ice Age Trail portion on the IAT website, but I didn't look at that. The IAT Cold Cache part would be of particular interest to geocachers. They gave you coordinates for models of five glacial features hidden throughout the shopping center and you had to answer questions at each one. If you completed all five you got one point towards the Cold Cache program. It was like doing temporary Earth Caches. It only runs tomorrow yet and with better weather this would be a good family activity. If you go remember to take your gps'r or they also had loaners.
