I found a multi today and was the first to sign the log in 11 months. I started this one last fall and finally finished it on my fourth visit today. I tried to calculate how many points it was worth as I drove home and with missing bugs it's a 16.5 pointer. I went to submit my find and found it's not on the list. It turns out the last finder who signed the log with two other teams on 5/31/2010 didn't log it until August and used that date. To top it off the person only has a couple dozen finds, hasn't cached since last May and is from California. There aren'y many lonelies in this part of the state which is a good thing, but this was both a satisfying and dissapointing find both at the same time.

Maybe you could at least try to PM them to see if they would change their log date. It probably wouldn't come to anything since they aren't active. But it might be worth a shot. Idea

Welcome to the club. wink

I've tried sandbagging on endless puzzles that I was sure would show up on the lonely list. For a variety of reasons they didn't show as I expected / planned. It's the nature of the game for anyone playing the lonely cache game.

The good news is that this was probably a decent cache. I've found on my journey that many of the lonelies are awesome and many cachers are just plain missing out.

This was an excellent cache
It was from 2002 and has a 20% dnf rate.
My first trip flooding turned me back. The second trip I found all of the waypoints, but couldn't find the final.
The next trip was another unsuccessful hunt for the final.
It was quite rewarding to make the find today.
Some points would've been nice, but I play the game as a service and for fun.
Many of the lonelies I have found have been some of the best caches I have found.

ya, i had one scoped out that wasn't found since July 10th 2010, I thought it would make the list for sure, but it didn't, almost 10 months without a find, but it must not be in the top 500 of the loneliest of the lonely. Oh well I guess ill wait 2 more months then it will be a year since found last, and it better make the list then! Unless somebody else finds it before then, which I doubt.
