As you might have seen mentioned on the Campout event page we will be having Night Caching on Friday night. Don't forget to bring your flashlights!
We're having a contest this year. If you're attending the event and arriving on Friday afternoon/evening and would like to place a night cache for everyone to find please contact me or post a response in this thread.
Team Black Cat and I will be coordinating the placement of the night caches along the dike hiking trail (Park Map: http://www.dnr.state.wi.us/org/land/parks/specific/hartman/map.html) which is a .5 mile loop north of Hartman lake that leads from the event shelter.
And what is a contest without Prizes
1st - 2010 WGA Geocoin
2nd - WGA T-shirt
3rd - Travel Bug Tag
If you've never attended a WGA campout with night caching or not sure what one of these is, there are many creative things you can do such as something that lights up, something spooky, follow a trail (reflective tacks, light up items), etc. The crazier the better. These are not permanent and just have to last a few hours.
Be prepared to give your creation a name as well. Otherwise, we'll pick the name
Back at the pavilion we will have a ballot box to place your vote for your favorite.
We're looking forward to a fun night caching experience! And it's only possible if you help out.

Can't wait to see the cleverness that always comes out for these!
I bought a new headlight this year JUST for the night caches. After finding that SPIDER tree in the dark at Bong last year...my neck crawled all the way to the ultra bright headlamp section. |

Bump (in the night!)
Still looking for some Night Caches. No one has contacted me indicating they are interested.
There is plenty of room along the trail for many creations and we will help place the cache Friday evening, so don't be shy! |

Maybe my response was fairly non-commital. We are planning one. |

Anyone else interested in putting one together???
Still plenty of space and so far only a couple people have one in the works.
The more the merrier! |

We've never done anything like this either, or have ANY clue what people make for these, but we will make an attempt at a "reflective" (pun intended) night time container. The worst that happens is we come in last....but I bet you guys find ours At least we will learn what people are making and make a better attempt for next year. |
