I don't know if this is the right spot in the forums to put this, it isn't a geocoin but I didn't see a travel bug section. Anyway, yesterday I got my free Geico Gecko Travel bug from Groundspeak. Anyone else get one? Now just trying to figure out what kind of goal I should have for it. |

Wow, free? How did you manage that? We haven't ever gotten anything free from Groundspeak (except fun, adventure, etc.). |

There were 6000 geico TBs distributed through geocaching, I got one yesterday also. They are also having a contest giving away a Maggellan GPS each week for 20 weeks. Enter at www.geocaching.com/geico. |

Mine also showed up yesterday. Trying to decide on what to do with it besides making it just another trackable. Hopefully there may be 2 more on the way, donated by friends. |

I believe the goal and description are preset when you activate it. You probably cannot change it. At least that's what the letter that came with mine said. |

Ah yes, I suppose I should have actually read the letter instead of just skimmed it. When I activated it the usual page came up and so I filled out the information for it. Then after I completed the activation a form came up all filled out from Groundspeak. So don't even bother typing anything up for it's description or mission. |

Got mine a few days ago. You can give it any goal you want. The only thing preset is a paragraph or 2 that plugs Geico. We have a mission for ours and it seemed to work out just like any other TB. |

Request a GEICO Gecko Trackable
Great news!
Due to the remarkable demand, GEICO has agreed to provide another batch of GEICO Gecko Trackable Tags.
We expect to have them available within the next few weeks, so check back soon for the request form. We will be sending them out to new homes as soon as we get them. In the meantime, don’t forget to enter the Find the Gecko Sweepstakes each week, and check on the locations of existing GEICO Gecko’s here.
Thanks again for your interest.

Wow, quite a successful promotion. All 6000 are gone already? And they are only shipping 1 per household address, so thats amazing how fast they went. Wait, its a FREE travel bug, what am I saying???? Its such a subtle type travel bug, I hope it doesnt get ignored or pocketed as a toy or keychain. Is anyone attaching theirs to anything? If so, what? I dont know what to attach to it to draw more attention to it and also make it more fun. |

Here you go. I think we'll probably add something to it but haven't figured out what yet.

That's OK, your picture is better anyway.
Today i picked up a little plastic lizard from a cache. I may be attaching that to the TB. |
