We did our first chirp cache yesterday. Could someone give us a chirping for dummies run down on what it takes to set one up?

If you have a GPS that can receive the information, just turn on the feature get it near your new chirp and follow the directions on the GPS...it's all fairly straight forward. You can add coords and other text information for the chirp to broadcast. |

You do have to buy the chirp thingie and place it somewhere so it can broadcast your info, too. We have yet to do one of them ourselves. |

I bought two when they came out and still haven't gotten around to getting the second one out in the wild. |

Chirps are also being used in conjunction with Travel Bugs. At geowoodstock 9 earlier this month, I got a chirp alert from a geocacher attending the event (TB19280). The screen came up with the logging information when I came near the chirp. That was my first experience with the chirp. I never did meet the other cacher. |

Garmin uses ANT+....not sure what it exactly is but I do know you will need a special receiver to detect the signal. |
