While in Sam's Club on Thursday, I saw that Microsoft Streets and Trips was being offered for $26 and then there was a $20 rebate bringing the price down to $6. |

Thanks BantamC. We saw your post early Saturday just before running some errands. Went to Sam's Club first and saw the program with the rebate. There was only 3 copies at the Racine Sam's Club and we snatched one right up. We had the 2000 version and it was very helpful. This one isn't much different, but much more up to date and has more details in certain rural areas.
Thanks for the great tip!!! |

On a side note, I have S&T 2001, but can't figure out how to convert coordinates from (for example) 43 XX.XXX 89 XX.XXX to the 43.XXXX 89.XXXX format which Streets and tips require. Anybody know of a website that I can use to convert?

I don't know of any program that will do the converting...but if you take the xx.xxx and divide that by 60 you will get the .yyyyy that you need to put into the streets program. i.e. 42 46.589 to convert take 46.589 and divide by 60 you get .7765. you can now put 42.7765 into your map program.
It will work I've used it before!

Try this site for converting...
http://www.jeeep.com/details/coord/
Try on this page also...http://www.cosports.com/tools/gps_coords.htm
Here's one more...an excel file... http://www.sheps.clara.net/SpreadSheets/WaypointWorkbench.xls
I think it's what you're looking for.
Good Luck

Picked up my copy yesterday! It looks pretty cool so far, but like most mapping programs, it puts my home address about a mile away from where it really is. No amount of prodding can convince it otherwise.
What I'm looking to do now is use the instructions in Markwell's FAQ to plan a route when I go out to PA in July.
Never thought I'd ever buy this program, but for $6.47 I couldn't pass it up. BTW, has anyone noticed that this seems to be a special "Sam's Club Edition"? You didn't need to enter a serial number when you installed it, and when I looked up the $10 rebate that Microsoft is offering on its site, it has a slightly different part number. |

Thanks Snoshu and Folk Trakers! That should do it!
Cheesehead Dave, you know the GPSr and Microsoft is never wrong, so I suggest you move to the new coordinates
