Hi,
I've heard and read about geocaching for years and I'm finally ready to jump in. I just purchased my GPS unit and I am looking for someone within a 50 mile radius of Oshkosh to help me thru my first few finds before I try a solo find. Once I get a dozen or so finds, I'd like to set a few and have a couple of spots in mind.
Also, if anyone nearby has done, or is interested in Benchmarking, please contact me. That sounds very interesting.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated! |

As a former oshkonian (oshvegasian?)I can say there are a lot of nice and helpful cachers down there There are a number of good first few cache choices too like "hold on teich to your memories" |

Welcome aboard. Rsplash is right - there are plenty of decent caches in Oshkosh that offer quite a variety. I'm 20 miles west in Berlin, but pass through every day going to/from work. |

Thanks CodeJunkie!
Rsplash...I will certainly hit GC22NTD
It's funny, I was telling my 9 year old son about geocaching and started to explain it to him. All of a sudden he cuts me of and says "I know where the is a geocache" I said, really? where?
He then tells me about one he and some class mates found walking the health trail around his school in Omro. He said it was white with a red top.
I'm going to look it up today and he is going to show me tomorrow after school.
I know it's cheating, but it's a start! |

There's a series around the school in Omro. Originally placed by RSplash and adopted by Jstajlr. I've only done a couple, so far but they've been fun.
Any activity you can do with your kids is awesome though. |

I'm working in our Oshkosh office this week Monday - Wednesday and probably caching during the lunchtime. I'm not sure what your schedule is, but let me know if that works into your schedule and we can meet up someplace. |

Hey Rsplash...you get around! I see you already know about the Omro fitness trail. That area was where I was thinking of setting one when I got to that point.
Anyway, I downloaded the info for the two you mentioned above and a couple in Omro.
Let the fun begin! |

Lunch would work perfect. Tuesday or Wednesday, either one.
I'm near New York and Main, but could meet you anywhere in town and can get away anytime from 10:30 until 1:30. Whatever works for you. |
