I completely agree with TheBalks and kc9gbo.
The things that they mentioned are the things that people in this area have been ignoring and/or putting up with for 2 years. No one has said anything about it until now apparently.
The final straw for me was when you finally admitted to moving your caches around. I know for a fact also that you did not have permission to hide that cache on the Fire Departments sign. I even ignored the fact and let it go until you brought up the moving of the cache deal on that sign. That is finally when I decided to take the action that I did and report it to Groundspeak.
I also agree with the previous posters about the quality of the caches and logs. I don't believe the ideal cache container is a listerine breath strip box with some paper scraps of post it notes in there that get wet after the first rain.
I believe alot of the people that replied to this intitial post may not be aware of how questionable some of your hides are/were as far as being located on private property or in places they should not have been, the quality of the cache containers and/or the logs, soft coords, a multi with no coords in stage 1 container at all as well as the final being 400' from another cache.
I will say that you did have some very nice hides out there in the earlier stages of your hiding career. But it seems like in about the last year and a half it was more about quantity than quality. We'd all rather have quality caches over multiple questionable caches
I an guessing that before there were some replies here you might think that I am the only one that had these issues with your caches and singling you out. That is not the case. Since you left the Coulee Region Cacher group on Facebook last week, there have been multiple people that have posted the same opinions as myself.
Like Paul, I would encourage you to rejoin the group and catch up on more of this areas local finders. Anyone else here is also to join the FB group. It is located here: Coulee Region Cachers |
Thanks for keeping your discussion as civil as possible. It is appreciated. Sometimes it is hard to disagree without being disagreeable, but as long as folks keep doing that, everyone in this forum is free to disagree and share their viewpoints.
It also might help to be as specific about caches that are the problem, and avoid attacking the cache owner. For example, when you mention finding a listerine breath mint container with a wet log with coords 40 feet off, that makes the point better than a "No VTS" logo on your profile page.

I did not include any examples in my last post. I figured by calling out certain caches and posting the GC numbers of problematic ones it would be considered a personal attack against the cache owner. |

Agreed, zuma. The closest thing that I've seen to a personal attack is the first two posts.
I'm not a big fan of "calling out" someone on public forums. I'm even less of a fan of group bashing an individual, but if you open a can of worms....
Since life and geocaching aren't always sunshine and lolipops, these forums will reflect that. Like zuma said, keep it civil. Maybe something good can come out of all this. |

Right now I'm only boycotting puzzle caches I can't solve, caches that are too difficult for me to find and caches with a terrain that makes it impossible for me to get! The boycott will end once I solve the puzzle, find the cache or figure out how to handle the terrain! Guess I'll have to learn scuba and oragami afterall. |

On no dont boycott my oragami caches. All you need to do is fold paper to make a cool figure then find the cords. Ask any of the finders of them I will help if you ask.
I like MrGreenthumb send out hints after a Dnf is posted except on the few harder hides. Then I wait for the second Dnf. I place caches out to be found, and hopefully last the test of time. |

They are definitely on my to-do list, hoping to have a folding party some day to make some of my non-caching friends useful! |

With the price of gas I'm boycotting everything over 50 miles away unless I going by them for another reason. |
