I see some nincompoops are wanting GC62B0 archived. It was a tough find, so it may still be there. Is there some way this cache can be given extra points for replacement, since it is one of the best caches in the state, even though it is rarely visited?

We noticed the NA log as well. ........ We contacted the CO in January, and learned that they planned to visit the cache this Spring to replace the container and 'rededicate' the cache, noting that it "has made a lot of people happy for years." Not sure why this cache is not on the LCG list, as it appears to be in the same boat as Carney Rapids GC12RHJ . There currently is a 'Verify Present' Rescue Mission on both for prior finders. |

Its not on the list because it was last found in June, and the list is of cache not found since May 22, 2011. And I tend to not pay attention to out of state people logging NA without visiting the site first. Grrrr!
That said, if you know the owners, please ask them to disable the cache and post a note with their plans. |

Whoops! Sorry Team DeeJay! Missed spotting that little smiley!
We previously suggested they disable the cache, but they've chosen to leave it up. They must believe there is still a good chance the container is still present. I probably should have said " . . . they planned to visit the cache this Spring to replace the container if needed . . . " |

That looks like a great area for hiking. Ah, if only it weren't so far away. |

It it is well worth the drive.
Dave - can we pretend that the June smiley is not there (since a claim was made it was fake) and add it to the cache rescue list for the coming month? Sometimes rules are meant to be bent, and if it gets added to the verify present list, I am sure someone will make the effort to go up there.

Ralph, it is already on the cache rescue list (CR1501). If the owner was willing to have someone else replace who hadn't previously found it, we would certainly give them credit for the rescue. |
