Now why would they do that? |
Out of space maybe? |
We are definitely not out of space! LOL! We have some great stuff in the cooker for this year, I was just speaking to another committee member about some fun things to do this year, different from last. We won't disappoint - promise! |

Both years we have used our Bingo cards as a way to either sit out some rain or to meet people after we've finished for the weekend so there would be no racing for us. |

I'm not fond of mega events. I'm more suited for smaller events with like 10-30 people attending at a local restaurant. Eat, share geocaching stories, maybe hit a cache or two near the location.
Too much crap going on at mega events that they are on my ignore list.
Sorry. |

I wondered if anyone was confused by the choice of words here. By "Bingo Card", they are referring to the stamp sheet used to record finds, not the actual Social Bingo card we hand out to encourage socialization. |

No need to apologize although your avatar fits your remark - LOL!!
To each his own, that is the fun part about the whole geocaching game. Everybody can find something they like and somethings they don't like and nobody is making you do any of it...
Bingo cards - sound like they still are popular then? Happy to do them if they are still something people enjoy. The stamp booklet to prove you were at a cache was a bit of a blurry mess last year due to the rain, but I guess there are people out there who like these too! |

i still think there should be brats, burgers, soda, and water sold at the bash grounds. who wants to go into a resturant sweaty wet or muddy depending on the weather. i dont think restuant owners or other patrons want that either. |

That's one of the tough ones! I agree with the "smelly cachers" part! I think the Sunday breakfast is the compromise on that issue. I enjoyed the free water from Walgreens the first 2 years!
It's hard to get some sponsors if no one is patronizing their establishments, smelly or not! I'm sure the WBCB Committee has some input on the subject. |

I'm sure with all of the money catchers bring in to the area during the weekend they don't care about a bit of mud and dirt to sweep up at night. I know I wouldn't.
But since last year I stayed at the park all three days I would have liked some food being sold their. |

I'll bring it up again at the meeting tomorrow, but the thought is that the Chamber of Commerce (the name speaks for itself), wants the cachers out in the community buying the food from our local restaurants. We did have snacks, etc.. put on by the dance troupe. I can see if maybe the Chamber would allow them to sell brats or something - at least it benefits the dance team. Get back to you on it! |

That is perfectly understandable, that the Chamber would want us spending in their member business. Perhaps there is a non-profit that would benefit from running a food stand at the park ... Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, High School organization, 4-H, etc. |

What if you used a local catering company to come out to a park? Or some place that rented out grills or smokers or something, like Famous Daves? That way it's still promoting community businesses. |

I agree with Jim, this would be ideal for a youth group from the community to do a brat fry. |
