Hi!
We're a family of four in Portage that signed up to start geocaching in 2009. We found 11 caches and life got in the way. We went almost an entire year without finding anything, and then jumped back in last summer. The older the kids get, the more fun this is. They help with puzzles, thinking outside of the box, and are great little hikers. We have a 12 year old and an 8 year old.
We have some lofty goals for the next few months, so watch out!

Welcome Kate, Tim, and family! Geocaching is a hobby that can change with your family. You can find kid-friendly caches, go to events with family activities, and get caching tips from other cachers who cache with their children. It's great that you are fostering a love for the outdoors by making family time a priority. Have fun Smile

Hi, Earthlovers4! I (Pat--Mrs. Sandlanders) met you last summer at your event at the Portage library that Team Sloughfoot helped you with. Great job! And I just finished logging a French Creek cache that we did a couple of weeks ago that you had found the day before. Enjoy your caching and enjoy the WGA!

Thanks!
We were in Stevens Point last weekend, on a dedicated geocaching trip to our friends' house. We found a cache, and I happened to notice Sandlanders had signed the log. It made me feel like I was home Smile
We really enjoyed the library program experience, and it was great meeting some of the folks that we see sign the logs in the area. Sloughfoot told me to check out the WGA site, and I'm not sure why I put it off until now....
I think I'm going to learn A LOT here Smile
Thanks for the nice welcome!
