Living on the border of Michigan and Wisconsin, I've attended events in both states when I can though all Michigan events I've attended were in the Upper Peninsula.
Having done so, I did notice that when I attend a Michigan event, it had mostly Yooper Michigan cachers. When I went to Wisconsin events, usually in Green Bay, it had mostly Wisconsin cachers.
So the thought came to me today - since I'm on the border of both states, I want to host a meet and greet geocaching event with the theme that would bring Yooper cachers and Wisconsin cachers together in one event.
The date I'm looking at would be Sunday July 22nd. The venue I'm looking at would be a local bowling alley with great food and a large meeting room for the event. I choose this date as it is my weekend off from work and I figure a 2 month notice would be enough for people to plan.
I think this would be a great opportunity for cachers of both of my regional caching areas to meet each other.
I would like some feedback here before I make the event official on geocaching.com.
Thanks. |

Lets see.... A bowling alley which usually has great air conditioning in the heat of July... Cold beverages... Vacation time for many people including me... An area not very far from some virtual caches I would like to score....
Sounds good to me! |

Yoopers and Wisconsinites in the same room? This I would like to see. Oh wait, they are on our side. It's those darn FIBs we have to worry about :p |

My area also has two great series of caches - the Mission Impossible series and the Henes Park series.
I most definitely will be putting out more caches in the area before the event.
I'll wait for more feedback before I post the event. Thanks, Tom |

That is the last day of our vacation, and should be coming thru the area on our way home. |

Leave it to Bartrod to go in circles on a lake. Must be fishing for salmon...

That's the final performance for Little Shop of Horrors. Let us know if you try this again, I'd be glad to attend. |

I don't like running around in circles! I will try to make it if the wife will let me. I come back from Tesomas the 21st and leave for CO sometime 3 or 4 days later. |

And I don't know if I can make this work myself. Just got reminded my family reunion is the same weekend. I thought that was in June.
My next best weekend is August 18-19. I'll get this going somehow. |

Hopefully people won't be too cached out from the cache bash the weekend before... |
