I'm planning on camping for the 2 nights and would like some suggestions from any local (West Bend area) people. I am looking for a site that a small popup one person tent would work.

In looking at some of the state parks, they do not always have tent sites. Using a site that is really meant for a camper on wheels is just a waste of space and funds. A minor drawback to the state parks is that they lock up at 11:00pm. That would impact anything that I might want to do at that time. ie. caching, hanging with friends, etc. Too bad I cannot pitch my tent in Regner Park. wink Just need a small patch of ground that is smaller than my vehicle. Laughing

Lake Lenwood is a very nice place.

A little older but very quiet and very nicely maintained. The owner is strict on quiet times. We've camped there the last 4 yrs for the Bash.

This yr...a hotel room.

Lazy Days is a OK place, we stayed there the last two years, the shower house could use some updating, we will be at the Pike Lake South unit this year. If you go to Lazy Days, watch what you plug in if you get an electric site, we burned up our inverter last year on our camper.

No camper for me. I just a have a one person Igloo popup tent. Takes me less then 5 minutes to setup and stake it out. Don't even need a full size site or electric. That is why I was hoping to find something outside of a state park with smaller tent pads.

Gov. Dodge was great with the group sites, because we all split the cost.

Not sure if it is the case this year, but in years past, Wal-mart has allowed people to camp in their parking lot. Not a lot of amenities, but the bathrooms are nicer than many campsites.

I may do that. The SUV has enough room for me and the mtn bike. That is what I did last year, but I did not have a tent then. Parked in a motel lot and slept. When you say "camp in the parking lot", I wonder if they would have a problem with a small tent. LOL
