Does anyone know of any tutorial on how to do the GPX file thing or explain how it works with the software that you need? Or any classes in the Green Bay area? We are starting the Wisconsin DeLorme Challenge and it seems that is the way to track your finds...
Kinda confused on the whole thing....
Do or do not..there is no try |

What exaactly are you trying to do?
The GPX file is basically an XML file that contains cache data. The file can be easily read and changed by a regular text editor like notepad, but try to find an editor that recognizes XML so it can display the file in a more readable form.
The GPX file can be loaded into GSAK and onto a lot of GPSr's.
There is really no reason to edit a GPX file downloaded from GC.com because if you are not careful you could corrupt the file. |

To track your finds as far as the DeLorme, get a copy of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife). There are a few macros that can be used with it to track several different challenges. |

On the challenge, it says that we need to submit a GPX file of our finds. I've heard of it, but have not tried to figured it out until now. I have heard of GSAK too, so maybe they will have a "How to" section....
Thanks for the info. I have some time to figure it all out, it just seems daunting at first. |

You could just create bookmark list to track them. After you are done, then make that into a PQ and submit then sumbit that GPX file. |

jedimastersWI,
If you are at Cache bash, look me up, I will have my laptop with me and can give you a few pointers on GSAK and the delorme challenge. |
