I am having a problem with my user name on the tb-run site. It is turning the "'" to a "/". This causes the tb to appear to belong to a different cacher. I have sent a message to their webmaster. I hope that this won't keep us out of the race |

Maybe we could drop the missing TBs back into the 2012 Picnic, which would be Archived, and give them credit for the returned mileage.
Who knows...a missing TB could be the winner! |
So, if one of them makes it to Germany and then goes missing, it gets a 6000 mile freebie hop? |
Maybe to make it more fairer.... They get just 1/2 the mileage instead.
I think this race is a good idea but I won't be able to attend the picnic. I "wonder" if I know anyone who is going????????? TBC? |

Thanks. I will try to find my tags and then get them to you next week. Thanks. I appreciate it. |

Depending on how many people want to sign up for the race during the event, there may not be enough time and resources. People will need to access their GC accounts to activate the TBs, and then sign them up on the race site. This is the reason I would have liked to have everyone entered prior to the event.
If there are only a handful, we should be able to take care of it, but if there are quite a few, it will become difficult or impossible.
So... I am planning on keeping registration open for one week after the event to make sure everyone gets entered.
In the mean time, if you have a travel bug that you want to enter into the race, please activate it now, and register it at TBRun.com. All the necessary info is in the first post of this thread. |

The apostrophe problem has struck again. I am unable to log my bug to the site due to punctuation issues with their programming and my GC.COM user name. I have tried to contact the webmaster at tbrun.com with no success. We will bring our bug to the picnic and play the TB race home game. |

So, other than the normal GC.com registration and the TBRun.com registration, we just need to physically bring the trackable to the picnic. Just a visually confirmation that it is real and then off it goes?
Got both of my guys set then! Vrroom, Vroom.
Did some go-cart racing this w/e, just to get back in shape for the race. |

I'll send them another message and see if we can get the problem fixed. |

I was hoping to make a big production out of launching the TBs, but it's not happening as planned. The requirement of the TB being at the picnic event was to have them all start at the same place. That is turning into a "guideline". I would still like the first drop to be at the picnic even if the bug is not physically there. |

...and that only makes sense. A common starting point for all.
What were the plans for the big start? |

We had discussed dividing the TBs into different groups, then dropping them in TB Hotels somewhere in Wisconsin; hopefully, 4 different areas.
Not sure if that was still intended or not.
If there is web access at the Picnic, can we register them there? I ordered 1 from the WGA Store. Guess I should find something to attach to it! |

You can always access the web from a phone. There was a certain BOD member at the campout that made his phone a hotspot. Maybe that could be arranged, if needed and he is up to it. |

Yes, you can activate and register TBs on the phone... If you have one.
And yes, I'll have my WiFi active. But, once again, if there are a lot of entries to do, it will become very difficult. Log in to GC, activate TB, register on TBRun (does that requre email verification?), and finally enter it in the race. With even 5 or 6 entries, that's over an hour... |

I'll be bringing along a few "items" that people will be able to use as TBs. Mostly Hot Wheels... |
