This week and weekend will be absolutely beautiful in Adams County if you are looking for the brilliant maples. We have toured our usual color haunts, and yesterday we found quite a few new color spots by wandering the back roads around here. Still some green until the oaks turn, but don't wait for the maples! |

This photo was taken on WRR 50, where you can find two caches: GC1Y7TW and GC20CD8.
This will also be a good time to go west of Mauston in Juneau County to see GC355EM and to try some of the Great Pumpkin Trail caches.

I'm planning a solo trip to Marinette County to do some waterfalling the beginning of next week and hoping for nice colors there, too. |

I'm going to Devil's Lake this weekend with the scout troop. Hopefully the colors there will be pretty good. |

Colors in northern Oconto are about 75% I would think that mid next week to the first weekend in Oct should be peak |

I know I'm a tad early for peak, but the forecast looks great, we don't have grandkid daycare next week and Trekkin's off on some crazy thing elsewhere. So I'm doing what I want to do! And looking forward to it. |

We are heading for Mpls to see the Beckster, and hoping for some prettiness en route as well as up there.

I just heard back from the owner of the bed and breakfast I'll be staying. He says peak colors during my visit up there. Yeah! |

It's beautiful here! I keep taking photo after photo! Town, country... you name it!
Also, the new stairway at Roche-a-Cri State Park is open, and the views at the top and along the way are great! Not quite the color you will see when the oaks turn, but still some nice views. Great weekend to be camping in the park, too. You shouldn't have any trouble getting a site if you decide to go at the spur of the moment. |

I just talked with accordiongal, who is at some teardrop camper event over that way, and she suddenly says..."Oh, the maples on this stretch are gorgeous!" then hung up.
I had nothing more to say, anyway. |

That's it! You've convinced me with that photo Pat... I gotta head north this week. Right after Green Bay visit to my son this weekend. Yes... I know I'm crazy heading to GB on a Packer home game Sunday! |

I-94 between Hwy 29 and Minneapolis is pretty bright in color, particularly the hills and valleys near Knapp (10 miles west of Menomonie). Hwy 29 from I-94 to Wausau has not reached peak yet, in our opinion.
However, it was a beautiful weekend for a road trip, and we even snuck in some caching. Great time all around.

We were in the Wausau area this weekend and it is really close to peak, if not peak already. Some really breathtaking colors on Rib Mountain and on the back roads that took us to the Eau Claire Dells. |
