Oh, yum!!! You just HAD to mention kolaches! I have a recipe for kolaches...my mother used to bake them when I was a kid...have tried my hand at it a couple of times myself. I found a little bakery that made them on "the quiet side" up in Door Co....also Kewaunee has a bohemian festival every summer and you'll find plenty of kolaches to be had around there that weekend. Must have been in Quinnesec, they have great pasties there, but the ultimate area Suzy's pasties, but they are way over by Mackinac Bridge

I'm starting to think you folks are either making up words or are trying to build my appetite up by having to look all these up...

I think it was north of Bailey's Harbor...maybe closer to Sister Bay.

OOOOoooooooo! Must be the bakery with the nasty, tasty, oil-gushing-in-your-mouth bread, and the autographed picture of Pat Metheny behind the counter. Thanks! Smile Smile

No, the best pasties are the ones made by Trekkin' and Mr. Timberline Echoes dad....living on the edge of Yooper land and a man who truly speaks Yoopanese. None better than those. Anywhere. At all. Even in Cornwall homemade. We've had those, too.

And my mom makes some really good pierogies. I have the recipe. Someday I'll try it myself. But for tonight, it's kielbasa with roasted brussel sprouts and some of the cheddar cheese bread we bought yesterday. Can't get more Wisconsin than that. I think there's beer in the fridge. Or we can just take some of our son's crap beer that's in there. He takes our stuff all the time!

If it's the bakery I'm thinking of, here's the cache site for an archived cache.
(GC391EE) It will give you coordinates about 50 feet from the front door.

If it's pasties (short A), the long A version is what we use to check out on those girls in those certain clubs when younger...

A good Finlander here agrees! Very tasty! We could also start a geocaching trend. The miners years ago would put one or two in their coverall pockets and it would keep them warmer until lunch time. Could this be a new warmth aid for winter caching?

Best time of the year! Few cold nights and they start to sweeten up. Have to grab them before the deer discover them.

Getting hungry, I know there's still some spicy humus and maybe some pita chips left in the cabinet. Cool

It was east of Iron Mountain but I'll be darned if I can remember what it was. A little hole in the wall but good stuff. I think I'm still full...

Yup! That's the one..... absolutely do not know how we could have missed knowing there was a cache there. Interesting place! Thanks!
