Still waiting to hear from the ortho, I finished the caching book. Now I've discovered daily free kindle, and am on a trashy novel binge. Haven't read that kind of stuff since high school!

I am heading to the hand surgeon in the morning for a different reason Rolling Eyes It might be strange to actually feel my fingers again.

I do not know about Kindle's free stuff, but there is some smut available for free on the NOOK. However, I do like their free classics and their free Friday selections, they tend to be of a higher quality.

FTP standings news (for all of you whiners out there Rolling Eyes ) ...

With so many extra pages this time, it was odd that all of the FTPs were scored by people in the top 1/3 of the standings list... not one anywhere lower down the list. And all of the FTPs were spread around so that there were no clear FTP hogs this time, with only sandlanders (12), lone_gunman (10), and mongo1965 (10) getting into double-digit FTP territory for this standings update.

And now, with respects to zoesbrother for initiating the FTP stats, these are the OFFICIAL (according to sandlanders) FTP standings as of February 18, 2013, after 5143 pages of useless drivel (drum roll, please)--

February 2012 - 104 finds
February 2013 - 30 finds
More of a problem this month with ice than snow. Tried to pick up a cache yesterday that we archived and couldn't free it from it's frozen home.

Hoping to more than double this month's total in Door County next week.

Of course though it's not about the numbers.

February always seems to be our slowest month. It's the only month in which we haven't accumulated 100 total finds over the years... the worst year was 7 finds. Got three P&Gs this morning to tie that year, but that still leaves us with nine more finds to hit that 100 mark.

Bring on March!!!

Snow and ice are a problem this year. I gave up on the Tomahawk Hunger Games series on Saturday because so many of them were at dead ends with snow piled up on/over the guard rails. I'll hit them again in April when the snow has melted ... hopefully Rolling Eyes

Oh, and I'm excited about Door County this weekend for a different reason. Door and Kewaunee are the last two counties that I need.
