Yesterday alone we had finds on 30 of our 109 active caches. For the whole of last week, 57 had finds, and many had multiple finders. The weather is great, the summer is coming, and people are getting outside!

Yes, we have to do cache maintenance on a regular basis, but when we checked on six of our hides yesterday, we saw all sorts of activity in the woods... critters, plants, sunlight... and it was fun! We've enjoyed messaging with cachers to help them get solves on our puzzle hides, we have had some great logs and private messages about how the cachers enjoyed our hides, and we have had cachers let us know when things are amiss with our hides. The communication has been enjoyable.

If you haven't placed any caches yet, think about doing so, and whenever you find a cache, let the COs know some details about your experience. We've had some down days as COs, but most of it is very satisfying.

more posts than finds...

We completely agree. We've met many nice folks because of our hides. We do maintenance and get the chance to explore those areas in different seasons. I've made a life bird sighting or two along the way. Most of all, we feel like we are giving back for all those we've found. In fact, later today we'll be hiking one of our areas when some cachers from Iowa stop in, doing any maintenance as we go. Should be fun!

The one down side? We wish more folks would get out and really explore. Most of ours involve a little hiking, cause that's what we enjoy ourselves, but those of ours that get the most visits are the few park and grabby ones we do own. Oh well. We know that the few who do visit those appreciate them. The logs on those are usually great reading, too.

Let's just go out and find caches and be done with it!
