Visited a few swamp caches today and only got the feet wet twice. Once with the skis still attached and once just walking around.

I also did some swamp walking, but we were looking for birds. Really, really quiet out there, between the river being largely frozen over and the winds. Did spot three Trumpeter Swans, which was a nice find. Two more of those than Bald Eagles, which is really strange around here.

Leines 6 packs of Hoppin Helles for $3.99 at the local grocery store. 2 of those and a 1/2 pound of herring in wine sauce. Looking forward to snack time.

I'm not normally an IPA fan, but the process by which this is made sounds interesting. Where'd you find it?

Just finished making another batch of Texas Caviar. Made a batch last weekend, but a bunch of students (and parents) gobbled it up completely. I've also just discovered that the black eye peas can be purchased frozen which is a great option compared to the canned version I normally use (less salt, less mushy).

Just did another round of shoveling. Who knew we could get lake effect snow off the waters of Green Bay? Doesn't happen often.

I got it at the Save a Lot here, also got the Burton Baton which I am tasting tonight. Not as bitter. Not sure why Ripon has it already except a friend works there and has met the DFH owner and gone to the brewery in Delaware. She talked her boss into stocking it but someone said Festival has it but he had to ask.

Except for a few stragglers, my shopping is finished.
