4-6 inches of snow should let me finish this third mound.

Just got back from looking for a different lonely cache - Clay Corners (GC1P54T). No love. We did pick up several P&G along the road there, made even easier because there were footprints leading up to the signs they were attached to.

The walk to the lonely cache wasn't bad for being over knee deep (note to self - invest in snowshoes) and not as long as I thought it would be going in. Got to several likely hiding spots, dug them out. Nothing. I'm certain the first one I looked at was the correct spot. It is the perfect Spike007 hiding spot. Great scenery too, even with everything buried in snow.

It's been over two years since it has been found. The last log was Spike saying he had replaced the last cache, that was eaten and taken. I didn't come across any scraps under the snow. I'm guessing the peanut butter jar was claimed by local wildlife.

I have pictures of the area and the spots I dug out. I think I'll contact Spike to see what he thinks.

Forced myself to go out and rake the snow off the roof in preparation for the next 5-8 inches. Rolling Eyes

The last time we walked to South School Forest, over the frozen lake route, we got to within 10' of the tip of the peninsula with the cache on it. Through 2' of snow, I sunk through and broke through some weak ice. I'm guessing there was a spring down there since everything else around it was solid and there wasn't any running water coming from the land into the lake at that point.

You can't be sure what you're walking on.

We encountered open water on Cedar Creek Friday. Be careful.

Unrelated note: I do not think I am in the NBA's target audience. Wicked Tuna starts tonight.

Solved the Choo Choo, now we just need to drive the 160 miles to get there. If there was only high-speed rail between MN and Milwaukee...
