Anybody happen to notice Buxley's is updated?
His maps could use some increased zoom-ability for cache dense areas, but its nice to see them back.

Right you are on all counts, Snail. It's back, it's dense, but it's nice to see it up and running again.

It is great to see the maps resurected. During their brief hiatus, we learned to make the most of MS Streets & Trips. combined with Easy GPS and Pocket queries, we found a much more powerful tool. Buxley's is still useful as a quick check for caches and new caches.

i have never used this site much, have always found other ways of doing this. i really don't like how this site lists archived caches.
we use GSAK to manage our waypoints, and it is really easy to export a file of all the caches we have downloaded. i like to see my caches on MS streets and trips 2005, google earth, mapsource, and usaphotomaps.

Thanks for this thread in any case. I googled up GSAK and Easy GPS and am about to try downloading 'em. Had never seen Buxley's either. I have MS Streets and Trips 2002- any chance that I can use that to "see" caches- or do you need 2005?

Thanks!

Hmmmm,

That might work. We have reservations for a weekend of camping at Penninsula. But did I read that this is near Green Bay? Could work that in perhaps. It's not like I'm putting all the waypoints in by hand- I'm not crazy!

...I taught the kids to do it. Image

Forefathers,

MSS&T should work fine for you to see the caches on a map... One simple export with GSAK and another import into mss&t and you should be off to the races..

`Good Luck!

Got it downloaded and running. Managed to get the waypoints I've accumulated over 4 years out of my Summit and into the program! That alone feels pretty good.

I saved them as Summit and was able to go into the program and find the folder, but Streets and Trips doesn't recognize the file- it seems.

I didn't mean to hijack the thread, will play around with this some more when I feel like sitting in front of the screen. We're off to find a few caches this morning.

Also looked up the seminar and see it's in Appleton. Could work, but (sorry to say) I'd rather be biking/ kayaking around Penninsula than attending the seminar...

I'm like that.

Update: played around while the kids were getting ready and I figured it out. I had over 150 waypoints from over 4 years in the Summit. How cool to see them splashed all over the map and try to remember when I was there and what they all are.

I just happened to find this map of Buxley's I saved at the beginning of 2004-

Interesting to compare it to todays image-

Looking at that really reminds me to thank our approvers for all the work they do!

Brian & Brian, THANK YOU!!
