It’s about numbers…
1. EcoRangers will stun Wisconsin geocachers finishing 2005 with 4000+
2. Bushwhacking Queen will be hot on EcoRangers tail with 2500 by the end of her first year and 3500 at the end of 2005. She won’t catch EcoRangers until sometime in 2006.
3. 6 Wisconsin cachers will post their 2000th find during 2005, but it will not include Pharmteam, wzbt03, Rpaske, Uncle Fun or Trudy & the beast who will pass that milestone in 2006.
4. 16 more will join the Wisconsin Millinium Club, bringing the total to 30.
5. 40 will make the 500 cache mark bringing the total achieving this mark to 70.
6. 275 will join the 225 that are now above the 100 cache mark.
7. Folk Trakers have set a goal of 1100 by the end of the year, they will make that mark and add four states to their count.
8. Greyhounder has set her sights on 500 by the end of the year. She will have to work for it but will approach 600.
9. Linus4cache has set her sights at 3000, but will have difficulty if she continues to revisit caches she has forgotten to log. Not wishing to repeat Socko’s delema, she will get her logs in order and post her tripple K.
10. Socko will return to the e-pages, but I don’t foresee an accurate count again in his future.
11. Whitnallgps will release his 150th travel bug
12. Messa will hold a caching clinic for preteens
13. Geotrippers will buy a new cachemobile, as will The cheeseheads.
14. Jthorson and T&tb will buy new tires for their cachemobiles.
15. Genius Loci will host a cache event on the north side of the cheese curtain.

All I could say was, "WOW" when I first read this. I hope everyone starts planting a ton of new caches for us to find so we can achieve this goal. Thanks! Tami |

Well that's a challenge! Hmm, not sure if I can do it, but I'll give it a shot.
(How many of your predictions come to pass?)

Interesting set of predictions. I am pretty sure that AstroD-Team will be in the same group as T&TB and Jthorson with the new tires for the cachemobile.
For the EcoRangers(and everybody else as well) there are another 25 or so finds up in Green Bay with the release of our new series. Will be posting something in the announcements shortly.
I just saw this post and was curious, how far off were last years predictions?

We would have to rely on some of our caching teachers to put a numeric score on the result. I would guess about 75% give or take 10% But, then, this is just for fun anyway. |

Perhaps it's time to re-look at this list, since the year is half over.
I'm watching the 1000 cache level, and think that prediction will be met, and probably exceeded.

I had to use a can of fix-a-flat at a russell's cache yesterday. I even mention it in my log.
Coincidence or something more....??? |

Add AuntieNae to the "new tires" list.
Front tires had to be replaced when I picked up a nice stick in the sidewall.
Rear tires, 3 weeks later, when I picked up a nail in the side of treads.

I can get on the list now too. New cachemobile got new tires after blowing one out caching in the middle of the Nicolet Forest a couple of weeks ago. Naturally, is started pouring as soon as I got the spare down. |

As predicted earlier in the year, we have had to get the new tires. Could a new cachemobile be very far off? Time will tell. I have my eye on a Toyota Prius which would triple my current gas mileage.

New cachemobile here -- the new tires came with it.
(and as to the prediction of me passing 500 this year -- I've stalled at 393 at the moment.)

Tne numbers are climbing, and fast! This year seems to be a great one for caching, and quite a few teams had been bitten quite hard by the bug,
Looks like both the 1000 and 500 predictions will be met, and likely exceeded.
Will be interesting to see the Beast's predictions for next year. If it's based on this year's fast pace, it might fizzle.

4. 16 more will join the Wisconsin Millinium Club, bringing the total to 30.
5. 40 will make the 500 cache mark bringing the total achieving this mark to 70.
Both of these goals should be met with ease.
6. 275 will join the 225 that are now above the 100 cache mark.
Anyone else watching the numbers? This goal will probably fail, and I think it is because of a general sluggish on the part of new cachers getting started.
They usually have a good spurt, then sputter, then plop! I would guess perhaps 1 in 100 really get into the game, and pass beyond 100 and keep going.
