Hey Bill, we loved that cache. It was so neat to see the drawing on the GPS! I'm surprised nobody has copied that cache in the area to bring us another one. |

I second this thought. Now with the new mechanism that allows the cache maker to supply supplemental waypoints (therefore no finger-dinking), you could do the Mona Lisa or something in a very detailed 'draw-by-number' cache.

I agree - cool idea for a cache. But now that there are programs like GSAK and the one that I wrote that automatically extract embedded coordinates, seems like it would mighty easy to see the picture in your mapping software without walking the walk. (More than easy with the software I use because extra coordinates automatically show). But a combination of coordinates and landmarks would do the trick (e.g. "now walk to the right field fuol pole"). |

You guys are right.. Some of the folks that did "Draw your own conclusion" did just use software to determine what the pic was to be... The finders were supposed to be learning a bit about their gpsr's...Oh well... When I placed this one, I knew that was a possibility. In fact, that's how I was able to fit the entire thing on the School grounds(I wouldn't do that again by the way...). I used the aerial view/map in Expert GPS to plot the wpts.. Would you belive that the path walked was exactly to scale?? It was a fun one..
I'm surprised nobody has copied that cache in the area to bring us another one. Is that a challenge?? Hmmmmm....
