this is the log posted at a cache visited by one of my travel bugs:

I thought this would be an easy cache as I was going to Macau for the day!! I woke up my wife at three in the morning from jet lag and the thought of getting a First to Find in China!!! So I went to ask the hotel staff to write down the name of the town near by in Chinese to give to whoever could get me close to the cache. Well they did more than that they printed out a map with all the names in Chinese for me. Armed with all that how could I not get this cache???
We headed off to the ferry terminal before light and left all the lights of Hong Kong behind us for Macau. Once we got to the line for customs in Macau we were next to a group of Tibettan Monks on a tour who could not take their eys off my wife. We think they had never seen a blonde westerner before. They giggled and Giggled at her. My wife and I split up at customs with her going to the ruins of an old Portugese Church. While I headed by taxi for the border of China.
I breezed through customs in Macau and walked the hundred or so yards to the customs house in China. I walked in and saw a million people in line!! This would take all day! I then saw above the lines the sign said "China Passports" the other said Macau/Hong Kong Passports" Then I saw the third line that said All foriegen Passports with three people in I was saved at last! So I strolled up and greated the customs agent in Cantonese "jo-son" good morning. She took my passport and asked for my declaration off goods. Opps "I do not have" well go back and find it by the door then come back. I found it filled it out and noticed all the odd questions on it? Do you have bird flu? An apple? and other bizzare questions no to all of them but to make sure I left my fruit on the counter where I filled out the form. I took less than ten steps looked back and the fruit was gone!
Im now back at the customs officers booth with her looking at my passport. Where is your China Visa she asked? I was told to get it here I stated. IMPOSSABLE!! she said. Not in two years was it permissable to do. At this time I noticed a couple of guards with AK-47s walking over to the booth. Could you please go with the guards sir. Im very concerned at this point!!
We went up to a third floor office and met a senior customs inspector. He asked a few questions as he looked at my passport. What kind of work do you do? Where do you live? Are you married? I asked all the questions as they asked for my day pack. he then emptyed it whele closely looking at each item. He found my travel bugs and was completly baffled by them! I told him about Geocaching and in fact that is what brought me here in the first place. He then found my GPS and asked what it was? An electronic map is what I told him. I showed him the screens with maps but not the lat long. As Im sure he would have thought me a spy!! He then looked at my maps the hotel staff got me. next were my digital camera and candybars. Im sweating bullits at this point. I was sure I was going to work in the salt mines of Shaui Jing never to be heard from again.
After thinking for what seemed like a year to me he said in perfect English "Next time you visit the Peoples' Repubic have a proper visa", "Yes sir I will" The guards then walked me to the customs line to go back to Macau. I was so glad to Not have to work in a salt mine!!!
I then met up with my wife and told her the whole story and she said that what I get for waking her up at three in the morning to go caching!!
