Maybe some of you are already aware of this site, but I just found out about it -- it's a good source for custom-printed topographic maps. mytopo.com
You can choose the location, choose the scale, choose tall or wide map orientation, and even choose any combination of latitude/longitude and UTM grids or tics. Preview your map on line, then they print it on non-tearable waterproof paper and mail it to you within 24 hours, all for only $14.95. They'll even ship it to you folded or rolled -- your choice. I saw some samples over the weekend at the Canoecopia show in Madison and they look great. I plan to order some for canoe expeditions this summer.

Hi Ken,
A similar feature is also offered at Milwaukee Map Service,(Mayfair Rd, Milwaukee). They have a kiosk on the North Wall. I have not had any maps printed up by them yet, but the owner demonstrated it to me last fall. If I recall, price was comparable. Tyvek or similar paper, color, etc.

Sorry, guess my question seemed rather odd. Image

I had heard of an outfitters called the 'North Wall', and I was hoping that your 'North Wall' was perhaps one of these.

A new camping/hiking type place in Milwaukee would have been excellent.

Speaking of that, I feel as if I just "discovered" such a new place, even though it's an old one. I went to Sherpe's for the first time and was very impressed. The store doesn't look like much on the outside, but they have a good selection of camping/expedition supplies at pretty good prices compared to Laacke & Joys, REI, Gander Mountain, Cabela's, etc. I know many of you have been there before, but it was fun for me to discover. Thanks, Sam!

Hey! That's great, Ken Image
Now I'm really glad that I made that cache! I hope you bought an ammo box, or two Image

That was my original purpose for going there, but they didn't have any ammo boxes left. They said they'd be getting more soon. I ended up buying other stuff so it was still fun. I'm taking Robin back there today so we can look at more camping stuff. See what you started?
