My Troop is considering having a geocoin made for our Boy Scout Troop fundraiser. Our Troop is heavily involved in geocaching and use it on nearly every campout.
I'm trying to cauge what support (in the form of desire for Troop 507 geocoins) there would be for such a fundraiser from the geocaching community. And what price would be optimal to ask. |

We would be interested in buying a scouting geocoin or two. However, since my son is in Pack 560, we would prefer one without numbers. |

I'm not a geocoin person, but I bet you would get more responses if you changed this into a poll. (Would you buy 1, 2-4, 5-8, 9 or more?)
Also, I wouldn't worry about making too many. Any leftovers can be sold on Ebay for $10 or more. |

I've seen polls on the forum, I thought they were and administrator "thing" how do you make one? |

I went ahead and added the poll for you.
The option is there when you start the thread. After a certain time, posts become un-editable except by an administrator, so unfortunatley you cannot add it now. |

After you come up with a design you should post on the geocoin discussion page on the national forums. Some people there even pre-sell their coins before they are made. Check with the geocoin manufacturers also and see what they can do for you. There is a bookmarked list of them on the geocoin page on the national forums. |

As I am sure you know, this has been done a while ago by another scout troop in Kansas. Not that there isn't room for more like it. I too would prefer a more generic scout coin so that it could appeal more to everyone involved in scouting. But however you decide to do it, I would be sure to get at least 2. |

I appreciate all the feedback. This is for a Geocaching / Scouting event at Camp Ohdakota (Kenosha County) on March 24th. Watch for the event notice. |

Well now, an event coin is another thing entirely! Then it should definitely *not* be a more general scouting coin and should feature all the event details.
We may just have to attend that one. |

I don't ever buy your popcorn since I don't like it, but I'd definitely buy a couple coins. |

I'd love to purchase a coin for scouting! If you remind people that the coins are for scouting they shouldn't mind paying a premium for the coin. After all it is a FUNDRAISER. I would purchase several. |

I would like a generic coin for Scouting. I am an Eagle Scout myself and have numerous camp outs at Ohdakota. Let me know what you have planned. I was in troop 350. |
