I am posting this for Team Hemisphere Dancer. It is a really bad scan of what he sent me. If anyone knows how to turn a ppt slide with multiple imposed images into something postable, let me know.

Anyway, this is his description:
"Its the best I can do with my skills but it should give you an idea. The (canoe) image would be the back side of the coin. The coin would be in the shape of Wisconsin. Any verbiage that you want could be put on it. But I was thinking a pewter coin with a lot of relief would look the best."

Here is a start of an idea. Note the GPS around her neck. "Mooving around Wisconsin geocaching." "Where are all the "udder" caches." More of a humerous take on the coin than the other beautiful designs which are a little more serious, but I guess that is just me.

OK, the deadline for idea submissions was yesterday. If anyone has any last minute things they want to post, I will leave this thread open until such time as we get the poll started which should be this weekend. Last call!

I don't think this needs a picture, but, having Wisconsin's most northern, southern, eastern and western co-ords on the coin would be cool. Maybe inscribed on the edge of the coin.

I think my geo-name should be on the coin, but that's just me. Cool

Whether this would be feasable would depend on which design wins and how much an edge inscription would be. We'll keep it in mind tho.

Here is an example of what can be done on the edge of a coin.

Wow - the end of this contest snuck right up on me! I had plans to have an image ready - but it's not something I can do by myself and my "art person" is off for the weekend.

Borrowing on several other ideas......................... The coin could be a cheese wheel, with a slice cut out. The cut out could be attached by magnets (like the Geochum coin that some of you might have seen at the CITO event) The holes in the cheese could be Wisconsin themed shapes. The big part and the slice could have the same tracking number - so it could be a regular or a micro coin.

Now kind of off topic - If you want to see what a WI shaped coin looks like (click on one for a larger picture):

I am not quite happy with these, so I am getting some new samples with some changes. You should be able to find a few coins like this in a cache near you in about a month.

OK, I have to close this thread now. Jeremy is in the process of setting up the voting poll and needs a list of the entrants. I will be creating a new thread that contains all the art posted here that the poll will refer to.

At this time, we can only list the ones who posted some kind of artwork. For everyone else who had ideas (and there were some great ones), I would recommend keeping them in mind for any future Wisconsin coin editions.

Thanks again to everyone who has put their creative efforts forward here. I will be announcing the winner one week after the poll starts.....
