Hi. Mother Wolf here. I guess Im the new kid on the block. I have to admit that I dont live in Wisconsin. Im originally from Chicago, be nice now, & I spent most of my teen yrs in Wis. so it was like a second home. I now live in Md & got involved in caching last yr & I love it. Since I do get back to Chicago now & again I thought it would be great to see what was going on in my old stomping grounds. Hope thats ok w/ all of you natives Smile . I will be stopping by often to see whats going on so please feel free to drop me a line. Til then Peace/Out Mother Wolf

Come on back anytime you want. We love tourists here in Wisconsin. Be sure to see some of our lists of recommended caches and Cache of the Month Winners as you look for places to visit.

Thanks everyone. Hi Justin. Its great to see our group wanders all over.

Like I said in my hi intro I spent much of my teen yrs around the Dells & Devill Lake. Boy do I wish I knew then about caching. I was up in the bluffs every day. Dont know that I could handle the rock climb anymore but would love to come back just to visit.

I will be dropping by now & again. Til then Peace Mother Wolf

Welcome, Devils Lake is an awesome area. You can still scramble up the rock trail there, and there are some cool birds that show up every winter there, too.

That was my first experience with actual rock climbing, btw. Long ago. But I've done it since, too, as recently as last summer. And I'm OLD!

Tell us about caching on the east coast!

I can only speak about Maryland. Like anywhere else it is what you want to make of it. Md. does have the advantage in someways since our terrain goes from sea level to mts. (Although anyone who has been out west knows these arent real mts here Laughing but they will do). We have the typical magnetic key holder to absolutely extreme caches that require some rope climbing experience, or boating availabilty & knowledge of tides. With DC being so close we also have many many virtual caches there (from before they quite using that term). This has brought alot of people out to begin with by also allowing them to see things or places they may not have gone to otherwise.
Within the Maryland GC society we also have a military section. Open to any military person, family member, friend or just someone who supports our service members. This allows for even more adventure since many of us have been around the world have seen how other countries cache, so we have gotten ides from that.
Each part of the country has, Im sure, its own little "thing" but the bottom line is the same. We use caching to promote new friends, share ideas, introduce new things to people, and to have fun. It connects us to "friends" all over the world & reinforces that there are re good folks out there than bad & that the good WILL overcome. Very Happy
If you are ever in the area here or coming this way please feel free to drop a note & there will be all kinds of input to where to cache, where to stay, what to do etc. Our door is always open & we love to meet our fellow cachers. Smile Smile thanks for asking about here.
Im looking forward to coming back to the Chicago area, probably next summer, & will definately head up to the Dells area for a day or so to see how things have changed. I will also do some caching along the way so who knows maybe we'll cross on the paths. If not heres wishing you good caching. Peace Mother Wolf
