I might be interested in participating in the coin venture. For me, price is the key (I guess I'm sorta cheap, and poor!)

Bec has a neat drawing of a badger. Maybe add a parrot to it? |

The company that I contacted has done many "group" projects - that's coins made from the same die, but using different metals and colors for each person. The basic quote that I got from them is between about 6.22 and 6.75 for a 1.75" trackable with an Icon. Using another option and foregoing glitters you could well be in the 5.75 range per coin.
If you all are interested in making a smaller coin we can do it cheaper, if you are interested in going with a non-trackable they can be even cheaper yet. The last group project I was involved in was called the Geocoin Nerds. It is a thin, micro coin - you choose your own metal and your own color. They where all one color and had a place for your name, or what ever you wanted to put on them. Those where $2.00 each. Prices have gone up this year, but it give you an idea of what can be done.
I need your thoughts......................... |

Here is one idea for a WI MWGB group coin. http://www.madhattersneverland.com/pez/wrappers/ProtoPage/coin_ROBIN_PARROT/1.htm There would be a space for each person to add their name - or what ever they wanted to in that space. You could choose your own colors, including glitter or glow in the dark.
I am also going to present an idea based upon Ldove's Mooving cow, if I get her permission to do so. Let me know if you are interested and what you think. |

Here is a new link: http://www.madhattersneverland.com/pez/wrappers/ProtoPage/coin_ROBIN_PARROT/1.htm
It has an other parrot on and a version of Ldoves cow. If we did the cow you would not be able to choose your own colors, they would all be the same and have everyones name listed on them.
I am going to be gone with Zuma for 5 days of caching in IL - a little warmer and a little less snow, I hope. When I get back I will make a poll to gauge the interest in both coins and go from there. I should have all of the price quotes in at that time as well. Currently it looks like it will be between $5.50 and $6.50 per coin, with a minimum of a 20 coin order. |

I was thinking the same thing....LOL. While I have placed my attend in for the event I still don't know if I can make it...I'll look into it and if I'm gonna be able to go I'd possibly like to get involved in this as well....but 20 coins will be too rich for my blood so if that is really the minimum I will have to bow out before I even get in. |

If we go with the parrot coin, you can partner with someone if you agree upon colors and personalization- then you could split the order and get 10 each. I have not gotten any quotes on the cow coin yet so I don't know about numbers with that coin yet. |

I'm not sure if anyone noticed this notice on the Event page: "Licensing of the MWGB logos or name trademarks must be arranged prior to production and may include cash payment or donation to the auction of 10% of the retail value of produced items."

I contacted the people from MWGB before posting about the coin here. They have seen and approved the design and have issued me a vendors permit. . They have no problems with the coin, especially since it is a group project. I am not making any money off of this, if I made 500 of them and sold them at MWGB, then the 10% would apply. |
