Rogheff
I guess de-listing a bunch of your GC caches and listing them on the other sites will bring exposure to the other listing sites. I'm really bummed you pulled them though as several of them were on my to do list. I just don't want to play on those other sites. |

I have to agree with Lostby7 ..
I have found several of the GC caches and enjoyed them. I also do not want to play on those other sites.

There are enough GC caches to last me the rest of my life. Why would I want to go on another site. This seems to be developing into another log temps or not spat. Let's keep the WGA about GEOCACHING. |

I suspect that rogheff doesn't like Intel or Microsoft or any other near monopolies.
While geocaching.com has been becoming more restrictive, I see the great majority of their initiatives as being in touch with an evolving hobby. They are addressing concerns from non-geocachers while keeping it fun for cachers. They appear to be tackling many issues in a proactive way. In my opinion, the monopoly of geocaching.com has been a significant benefit to the geocaching community while causing "harm" to very few cachers (like rogheff?). I agree with many of the other cachers who see NO reason to use a different site. |

Seriously, I dont mind us posting a link to either Navicache or Terracache. Partly, I do agree with the idea that the monopoly that Groundspeak has on geocaching may not be in the best interests of the game in the long run. So it is great to list them, for those who may be interested.
However, as it stands right now, Groundspeak has achieved a monopoly because they has made a lot of good decisions regarding the game, and have a great user interface. Terracaching seems based on the "scoring of points" and requires one to be sponsored, both of which do not seem like good basic decisions to me. Also, the terracaching site if very tough to sign up for, and there are no local caches there.
And, as I said before, Navicache has a very clunky, outdated interface, and has not kept up with archiving caches that are no longer there. It just seems to be a lame imitation of Groundspeak, which offers as it's only advantage the ability to bypass the approval process.
I am open to trying other sites other than Groundspeak's, but they will have to offer something more than just a way to bypass Groundspeak's approaval process. Rogheff has still not provided an advantage of either Navicache or Terracaching, other than the ability to evade following the rules of going thru the Groundspeak approval process.

Just to correct the record, it's Bob's Big Bulletin Board O' Caches
Here at Bob's, we don't worry about none of them "standards" thingies that the uppity gee-oh-cachin-dot-com site has. Hide what you want, where you want it, and list it any ol' way you please. Just drop Bob a note when you're done and we'll post a note to the nearest tree. Who knows--maybe someone will even see it and go find your cache! |

Maybe others have missed this, but you can request a website be added under the web links section.
It's pretty easy, just click Web links on the left column of this page & when you see all the category's listed there is a submit link button above those. |

yeah, we would not want people thinking bob was "Big" because he's trying that new fangled weight watcher thingie with "the wife".
I still think this would make a great new cache theme.... |

For those of us who do not have a GC membership to get those highly sought after FTF numbers the other sites are very helpful.
I just got my first FTF from the terracaching site (TC9BL) two weeks ago. Had to travel almost 4200 miles to get it |
