I was introduced to geocaching at the recent Scout Expo at the Waukesha Expo. I bought a gps this week. Now I am looking for veteran cacher in the Milwaukee area to go out geocaching with me and my sons. We have gone out a couple of times without any success. Hopefully, spending some time with an experienced geocacher will help us get the hang of it. Thanks. |

Welcome to the cult, eh I mean club. I wouldn't mind hooking up to help you out, however it may be a good couple of weeks before I can spend any serious time out there. I'm sure that somebody in here will be able to lend a hand. If you have some specific questions, don't be afraid to ask. There are a lot of wonderful and very helpful cachers who check the forums more than once daily. Good luck to you. |

Hi, Welcome to the WGA and welcome to the fun and exciting world of geocaching. Lots of folks down that way are pretty good, and I hope you make connection. Nothing better than finding tupperware and ammo boxes in the woods.
When starting out, ya might have better luck trying some of the caches that are not micros, since they sometimes can be tricky. Try some regular size ones or smalls, and as ya find a few, it soon will become second nature, and the micros will get easier.

Hang in there. I first started this year and can remember going out the first couple times and not having much luck. Now that I have been trained by Team Outdoorsmen I am practically a Pro.
Attend a couple Events and you are guaranteed to pick up some pointers. |

I used to live fairly "close" to there...on S 83rd with McCarty park in my back yard. There are some nice easy caches there if you have the desire to visit a nice park. |

I believe this is in Team Outdoorsman's backyard. If he can't help, I'm fairly close (80th and Oklahoma) and could lend a hand if needed... after the campout of course.
There are an amazing number of geocachers here on Milwaukee's south / southwest side. I believe we still have more WGA members from the 53219 and 53227 zip codes than from any others in the state. |
