Geoaware has asked that EC's be referred to as an "EarthCache." Other spellings word separation or capitalization is not appropriate. Seems silly but it makes sense in terms of uniformity.
Also for those of you who don't visit the national GC forums there is now an Earthcache Section for your reading pleasure...I guess there is more over there to offer than just people bashing Wisconsin’s Temp-logging practices....who knew. |

As a writer who constantly has to deal with companies insisting on unusual formatting (no upper case, all upper case, some italics, all italics, etc...)...
All I can say is "good luck with that." Geoaware better be willing to take it upon themselves to monitor all the listings after they are published. (Yes, listings go there first, but there is a lot of owner cleanup that occurs after the adoption is made.) |

ahh, you did not correctly represent EarthCache in your advertising message. I'm going to have to ask you to correct that before Friday. |

I'm not sure how firmly they will enforce this wish....but I agree there is tons of editing after publication....though by their guidelines there is to be only minor changes to the listings once published. Again, how much control do they have over those changes?
I just thought I'd post this here...for future writeups.

you mean cache owners change their listings after they are approved and published? say it ain't so!
Also, can someone correct the name of the Earthcache Discussion Forum section to correctly read "EarthCache Discussion". Thanks (had to do it...) |

Cleanup=putting back in all the nice formatting that the review process mysteriously stripped out...adding images that were uploaded with the cache but mysteriously never made it to the page...changing the owner name after adoption...fixing the occasional error....adding more detail and clearer instructions in a futile attempt to avoid logging problems by people who don't take the time to fully read the cache page...yada yada |

cheeto
Like "oh, I was suppose to email you answers?" "oh, we were suppose to take a photo?" yeah, people do not read the pages completely
I did update our EarthCache titles .. but have to double check the cache pages themselves .. in my spare time. |

Hey LB7!!
Sounds like geoaware is bored. LOL some of it might be steming from the Geology Society itself. I have no problem with the uniformity. I have been writing it that way anyway! |

I too have some work ahead of me to check all my pages for uniformity. |

The grammar police strike again... the name of this forum has been changed to EarthCache to fit the guidelines. All old posts with Earthcache, earthcache, and earth cache will be grandfathered in. All new posts should use the new EarthCache spelling / capitalization or you run the risk of being arrested, interrogated using "cruel" techniques (waterboarding, tickle torture, etc.), and thrown in jail for life by the grammar police. |
