Aka, "Dr. Evermore and Lady Elenor". Even if you don't find the cache, this place is worth the visit!!!! It's just amazing!!! We went there today thinking we'd walk around a bit, find the cache, and then move along to other caches in the area, but we spent the entire afternoon there!! The only reason we left is because we got hungry, lol.

Agreed...this is an amazing place. So amazing that it was on the Discovery Channel. And if you're lucky enough to get the chat with the good Dr. or the fair Lady...well, consider it a bonus! And remember...EVERYTHING you see is for sale! (side note: though you may think you found benchmark heaven, they don't count!) |

Just reading the logs on this one is interesting! It is on our must-do list when we get back to that area. |

Aaaahhh.... but NOT everything was for sale. We actually asked yesterday as Papa Fishcacher fell in love with a free standing baseball player and Little Fishcacher loved the gladiators. Neither was for sale. And a couple women there at the same time as us had tried for four different things and got a *not for sale* from Lady Elenor. I guess the ones everyone kept asking about were ones her son Troy had made and he's been not making sculpture for awhile since he has been in college instead. (Lady Elenor said something about trying to "save one of everything" that was made.... As a mom as well, I can understand where she was coming from, lol.) He graduates in December she said. He's getting his degree in advertising so they are hoping that can help their park. (Dr Evermor did say something about *coming late at night and "pinching" one*, lololol.)
Dr. Evermor had a stroke in May so due to limb weakness, is currently in a wheelchair. So it looks like things aren't being made as quickly as they once were possibly. They have a webpage: http://www.drevermor.com/index.html. It lists three things for sale is all. So maybe as the Doctor regains some strength and Troy returns from college, maybe things will pick up in the creating department again.
They sure were nice people. I sooooo want to go back again! Maybe next time I go caching thru the area, I'll stop in. I think it would be so neat to see it during each season! The leaves gone from the trees gave it an extra surreal quality.

Okay, so perhaps thinkgs have changed since our last trip up there. I stand corrected! Let me rephrase...everything used to be for sale. |
