Several of us tried this set back when there was about a foot of snow on the ground. Only found one cache.
Last weekend we did the whole series in about 75 minutes. Had a clue about some of the waypoints, and managed to find them all quite quickly, even the more devious!
The way the set is organized, there are 15 waypoints all total. Sounds like a lot, but not really. Fairly close together - we walked the whole thing.

You guys did the whole series in 75 minutes? Wow..that's pretty impressive. I did it last fall with a group, and we found that the best way to do the whole series in one shot is to park one car on Puetz Rd and to carpool over to Drexel and start there. It's five caches total..an awesome series by Hugh Findit. If you like that series, try "Where the Deer Hide", and "Flag" or any of his or MathBoy's other hides. They're challenging, clever, and lots of fun.

FOUND: GPSr case. On Sat, 3-25, while out rechecking my "clue" coordiates at Orion The Hunter-GCQP9D, I found a
GPSr carrying case. Was located near the geotrail by the field. If it's yours, describe it (brand it fits and color), and
I'd be happy to return. Contact via profile. Itlooks brand new! Last 5 logged finders were contacted. Does fit my GPSr, but I already have a case--bummer.

Was it only that long? I do remember we got there in mid afternoon, because the sunlight was already changing, and I know we went quick, but wow! We even had time for a stop at Culvers and a few more caches before dark.
But, that's beside the point. This is a fantastic series and hopefully a future COTM, although I spent my vote early in the month on another worthy perpetual also-ran *cough*Dr. Evermore*cough*.
The quality of these caches was consistently good, the bonus coords were harder than the caches themselves, and each cache following a theme for the WPs always made you look at things differently. Nice all the way around. |
