We spent the late afternoon caching in Wausau and are camping (at LaQuinta) overnight. Trekkin' said we should call Mathman and Rick Blick and go bowling. Bowling? Saving my energy and looking forward to a good time in the morning. Thanks OPS for getting this going! |

I fully regret having to have to turn down this trip. I don't want to take any chances weatherwise. The wife and oldest have plans in the afternoon, and the youngest is having a buddy sleeping over. I need to be home early enough to watch the young ones. I hope you all have a great time. Maybe if there is a next trip? Be safe. |

Judging by the logs I have read, it sounds like I missed a good one. It is now 6 pm and I still haven't seen any freezing rain. Somehow I knew this was going to happen. Glad to hear that everyone had a god time. |

It turned out to be a rather nice morning to make this hike. But you never know about the weather and there's no sense making a long drive on an iffy forecast. All three OPS team members enjoyed the hike (two of them made the trip for the first time). Birdin' got us interested in another good snowshoe cache called Eagle Source. Have already started studying the aerial maps and reading the logs. There's a good chance that we will make an attempt to find that one in the next few weeks. Perhaps we'll post an attempt date for that one too and anyone else interested can join in.
Anyway, our kind of cache today. Even if we didn't get a smiley. |

Thanks Tim and Renee for being such great hosts. We pulled up and the hot cider was ready to be served. This is the kind of caching experience we truly enjoy, and going out with friends made it even more fun.
We left Point earlier than we'd planned, but it was about the right time to leave, as it was icing up by the time we got to Tomah. Sorry you missed this one, furfool. There will be others! |

OPS if you head up here for Eagle Source give us a shout, maybe you will want to warm up with some hot cocoa at our house after.

That's another cache I would like to hit some day. It is actually only a few miles from my mom's cottage. Unfortunaely this time of year it's sealed up. Esker in the Kettle GC10MGP might be a good snowshoeing cache. I did that one in the summer. I think Timberline Echoes did it in the winter. |

That does look like a good one to try. One question though, there's no way to tell what's private property and what isn't from the aerial photos and nobody posted any parking coords. I'm guessing that the best access would be Gensler road to the west? Is it plowed? Any help appreciated.

That would be great! We'll keep you posted with plans and see if you folks are around when we make it that way. |

End of the Earth is a nice snowshoe one too.
Yes, Gensler road is plowed and should be right up to the parking spot .6 miles from the cache. Mrs. TE was a Gensler for 10 years and her 3 kids are Gensler's as are 90% of the people that live on that road. Should not have any trouble.

Sounds like you are saying this is 'dueling banjo' territory, but you can 'guide' us to safety! |
