This sticky forum topic is provided for WGA members to share their recommendations regarding good places to eat in this region.
When you make a recommendation, please provide as much information as you can. At a minimum we need the name of the restaurant, type of food served, and the city/town where it is located. We are all geocachers, so the coordinates of the establishment would also be helpful.
If there is a need to edit or delete your recommendation at a future date, just post a note in this topic and one of our forum admins will take care of making the change.
Thanks in advance for your recommendations! |

This place is TRADITION for me, whenever we come to the Dells area:
The Log Cabin Family Restaurant
1215 8th Street, Baraboo, WI 53913-1805
Phone: 608-356-8245
N 43° 28.492
W 089° 43.256
The name says it all. Backwoods Log cabin, right in town. Great food at reasonable prices. Homemade Pies....99 cents a slice or buy a whole pie to take home!! |

Is Wautoma in this geographic area?
If so, I recommend The Farmer's Market on the corners of Hwy 21 and Hwy 22. Open seasonally - but an extensive menu that is delicious and reasonable. (not to mention you can get some fresh produce, antiques, etc. after you eat) |

We just ate there on Sunday! Good variety on the menu, too. We like the antique store on the east end better! |

Not one to do much posting of recommendations, but while meeting an “old” high school buddy and cruising through downtown Beaver Dam, we found a wonderful dining piece of “Americana”. With a very plain front, Chili John’s is a wonderful, colorful eatery operated by the third generation at the same location (N43* 27.368 W088* 50.429) since 1928. The food is great, prices are good, and Chili John is a delightful character, masterful at slinging both hash and comments on most topics.
If you stop by, note that hours of operation are from 5 AM til 2 PM Monday thru Saturday, and mention that “the geocaching Hotdogs” sent you. You'll enjoy your visit.
