On May 30 Groundspeak will be sponsoring an event in Davenport, IA with regards to their GPS Adventure Maze exhibit that opens May 23. The event and the GPS Adventure Maze are held at the same facility in Davenport and the cost is $6.00 for 12 and up, $4.00 for the kids, and the tiny ones are free. Plus there is a permanent cache at the facility also. The Groundspeak sponsored event and maze can be found at GC1N43D and GC1N445.
I know that a number of Wisconsin Cachers are planning to make the trip to Iowa on the for the event and maze on the 30th. Team Black Cat, Wywrdsn (us), Frmr and Lone Gunman are all heading.
We are wondering how many other lost Wisconsinites we will see for the event and maybe do so caching after the event. And if you are going lets make sure they know where we came from and wear Wisconsin or WGA clothing to the event |

We went to the Maze event in Muncie Indiana .. it was very informative and FUN! Plan to give yourself plenty of time to do the many activities inside.

Okay, I've decided to go. Looks too fun to pass up.
I'll probably drive down on Thurs/Friday, depending on my route.
Questions:
1. I saw a couple people are staying at the Days Inn. Is that where everyone else is staying too?
2. Mind if I tag along on Saturday with some group for event and/or after-event caching? I prefer caching with people than solo.
Thanks,
Annie |

Don't know about Trekkin', but much as I'd like to join the fun, I've already got plans to leave the house about 3AM to hopefully see North America's rarest warbler.....in sandlanders' neck of the woods!
We hope to get down there later this summer to enjoy the maze, just can't do it for the event. |

1. Don't know
2. Sure, I know FRMR and I are going to be meeting up with wywrdsn somehow. Anything specific you want to find? |

There are multiple Days Inn in Davenport. Lone_Gunman and I will be staying at Days Inn Davenport North. From what I can tell it is about 5 to 6 miles from the Putnam Museum. |

We are waiting until next Friday to decide when we are heading out. It is month end at work and I have to stay later, so depending on how late will determine if we go late Friday nite or Early Sat am. Either way we plan at being there overnite on Saturday and being to the event fairly early
Would love caching with others after the fact, I have only two caches in the area for my must do, a webcam and one 5 terrrian (I need both for blackout)
Hotel, wont know until we get there |

We attended the Bridgeport CT hosting of the GPS maze exhibit, it is very family friendly even for little ones and took us a couple of hours just in the GPS part of the museum. Be sure to ask if they have location specific geocoins with signal on them, I bought one in CT for around $10. |

Would anybody going to the event be willing to search for the following cache either Saturday or Sunday (I need it for a T/D Square)?
Joker's Hole (GC17EQ7) D4/T4.5
It's a little south of Davenport in Rock Island in the Black Hawk State Historic Site. There are also 2 Earthcaches and various traditional caches there. I'm not sure how difficult it really is, but a 4.5 makes me think I probably don't want to do it alone. |
