Gotta Run. Since he donated the prize this month, I figure he would like to carry over the prize to May and I will substitute a 2008 WGA geocoin. Nice job again. Also noteworthy was the effort by frmr, who probably would have won if he had a bit more luck with some of the tough caches he was seeking. Congrats to both of you. |

Yes. I think T&B has a bead on the letterbox.

Well, the "Letterbox Hybrid in a Box" is all boxed up and ready to be mailed off. Will it be mailed after May?
Hmmmm...lookit all the activity this month. I bet T&B would love to see a certain someone in Eau Claire put it out.
BTW, here's the stamp. Please remember I'm a writer, not an artist...

Cool idea for a prize. Maybe I can create something like this for the raffle at the campout, too.
You know whoever wins it and places it, we'll eventually go hunt it! |

Just remember folks, you get the ammo can, AND the stamp, AND the log book, AND whatever swag I happen to stuff in the can. I'll even throw in a pen or pencil, your choice. Heck, I'll put in both. All shipped via USPS Priority Mail straight to your door.
(Though, if the experience of our January geocoin is any indication, maybe I better go FedEx... ) |

I was going to try and make a run at this for May. I thought I was off to a good start, but I see that I am just a pretender at this point. With most of my weekends already booked, I've got a tough road ahead. |

Well, 2009 has been a weird year. Look at it another way, if this were 2008, we wouldn't have "won" even one month by this point!!!
As I've said before, what we like about the LCG is the difficulty/strategy "reward" of the game. I think you "numbers people" can understand. Given limited time, you'll pass up a four-mile multi in favor of 10 park and grabs to see the stat ticker go up, right?
Since the LCG adds in the D/T factor, the reward is upped for more work. Finding a "20 pointer" is pretty cool. It's also interesting to take a stab at something that hasn't been found in some cases for a year or more. "Wow, it's still here!" Hey, you all understand, you play too.
Now, I do feel a little bad about "winning" four months straight. We do want everyone to know that we're not trying to "rub it in" or anything.
But that doesn't mean we're backing off either! |

Hey, if there wasn't anyone at the top, there wouldn't be competition |

Certainly would have been a different game last year if you had joined in earlier, but no amount of me trying to talk you into it back then could convince you to get involved in this folly. I guess you knew back then that is is probably where you'd be now, although I don't imagine you expected to be topping out every month. I should have kept my mouth shut!
Anyway, it has been nice watching form the grandstand and jumping in if only for a few here and there just to stay involved. I can't believe I had that much time to myself to pull off the scores I did last year. It's been a relief not thinking about it too seriously either, although the current gas prices would have been nice to have in the early part of 08. I remember filling up for over $4 a gallon on a couple occasions, so maybe there was more to the logic of waiting til LCG year 2 than you let on.
Congrats on all the high scores and topping out over 400 points for May. Those of us who've posted numbers in that range know exactly what it takes to get there... a lot! See you next month, man. |

It's been a challenge with our "no revisit" philosophy! Not that there's anything wrong with it, we just prefer seeing new places. |
