I was just wondering the other day about which caches in the Wausau area were "Firsts."
I am sure Black Cat has all of this information but I will start the list...
FIRST night cache: "Willard's Walk" by Lj&co (adopted by Mathman
FIRST puzzle cache: "River Puzzle" by One Paddle Short
FIRST Cache: "Three Bad Ribs" by Good Dogs
FIRST paddle cache: "The Eau Claire: Eau Claire River Series" by One
Paddle Short (still active)
FIRST Event Cache: "Rib Mountain Rendezvous" by One Paddle Short
FIRST Night Paddle Cache: "Triathlon: Moments of Darkness" by Choppy
Waters
FIRST Tribute Cache: ???
FIRST Multi-Cache: ???
FIRST "Special Container" cache
FIRST???? |

Three Bad Ribs is a multi-cache, so I guess Good Dogs gets double honors. |

Is this also the FIRST Archived cache in the area? That was a good idea. |

I don't have any information on caches archived before I started in July, 2007, and I'm sure a lot of "firsts" have been archinved. I can make a guess at some...
First micro: Middle of No-where (GCT3GW)
First urban micro: Welcome Home Cache (GCN49E)
First mystery type: River Puzzle (GCV462)
Look Up at Rib Mountain (GCY2QJ) is a first, but I don't want to give it away.
First pipe bomb: Gazebo Point (GCT4MP)
First TB Hotel: Black Granit Bay Cache (GC10CGM) |

Pretty sure the first ammo can was from OPS. You Saw It Where? (GCRPV3) is now a micro, but when we found it, it was a 30 cal. It was hidden in December of '05. |

I've looked pretty hard, Mathman, but I am unable to find any logs on any cache within 20 miles of Wausau mentioning a water mishap earlier than this one.
Go figure... the first log on the first canoe cache in the area... |

Guys you should start this up as a bookmark. I know that it is great resource for those of us who are out of the area but come up there to visit.
We are hoping to make our first canoe/kayak cache this weekend in Wausau and if it goes well I could see us coming back to try some of the other water based caches. Triathlon, definitely piques our interest |
