We are going to the West Bend for the cache bash, and are going to be there a little early, I am assuming that most of you make number runs in that area. But, if you had to narrow it down to a couple of must do West Bend caches, what would they be? Any type isfine with us, multi, traditional, puzzle.
We have already done the card shark series. Thanks!! |

Wow... where to even begin? Hmmm..
PU What a Stinker! (GC17PV2) This cache is becoming a West Bend "MUST DO" ... despite how stinkin' awful it is.
Shipwrecked on Fantasy Island (GCVP2P) Simple cache with fun theme.
Rainbow Raindrop Series in Glacier Blue Hills Rec Area (6 micro caches plus a final). Doing the whole thing at once can be quite a workout but possible. Here's one of the drops: (GCJDZP)
Super Sized! Won Cache of the Month Apr 2005; Just a fun one. (GCND98)
Pure Evil - A tough one near Super Sized. (GCPB6J)
It's all About the Trees (GC1GCE3) Unique hide.
You Dirty Rat! Series (GCTW6Y) 5 caches that should be quick, but might not be... Takes you on nice walk on the bike trail. Easy terrain.
Pretty View by Princess (GCNT30) Awesome view of Kettle Moraine after a nice hike on the Ice Age Trail.
Lord of the Caches Trilogy (Jackson swamp) (GC7DA) - Placed Apr 2001. One of the best multis in the area. It takes time, however (as in hours).
And many, many more.... |

FYI - For those playing the WGA LCG, this one is on the current list and worth some good points.
I am pretty sure I will be there at some point that weekend. If there are other LCG players going to the Bash and want to join me in a team effort find on this "CHALLENGE" just let me know in a pm. |

Allow 3 hours (an hour per stage) although it may not take you that long, depending on conditions. |

Well I am totally tickled to see some of mine on this - Just an update since I have It's all About The Trees on my watchlist, this one may have been recently muggled so if you are planning on finding it, you may want to check the cache page first or contact the owner.
For The LOVE of Geocoins! by Ecorangers: Earth Angel & Princess (GCNYRK) or
Villa Park Geo Coins by teambeek (GC13BPV) for the geocoin lovers around.
Got jeeps to swap, here is one for you Jeep TB Hotel by Ecorangers: Professor & Earth Angel (GC12DBW)
If you want to get away from the crowds, there are I think 6-8 caches in one beautiful sculpture garden, chapel and serene spot right near this cache. Faith Renewed! by Ecorangers: Professor & Earth Angel (GC152T7)
West Bend also has several new Earthcaches:
West Bend's Great Divide EarthCache by AuntieNae (GC1CH2V)
IATCC - West Bend's Artesian Well EarthCache by AuntieNae (GC1FDB9
West Bend's "living Fossils" EarthCache Old Tales by Gr@nny(GC1VNRG)
Esker in West Bend by Ecorangers: Earth Angel (GC1WHFE)
The Ephemeral Pond at Riveredge by ThePharmGirl (GC1E6CZ)
There is also the oldest cache in Wisconsin Located at Pike Lake State Park and also an earthcache there:
Powder Hill: Kame and Kettle by Lostby7 (adopted by uws22) (GC18MJB)
Pike Powder Hike by kbraband (GC3B1)
and if you are this far over - you may want to try to get BBIINNGGOO!! by Zemmy (GC14B96) after all your cache finds.
Hope this helps! |

Pike Powder Hike is definitely a worthy cache. I nominated it for the August COTM. I found the other cache at Pike Lake, but forgot to load the earthcache there on my GPS so I didn't get that one. And I didn't qualify for the bingo one. I didn't load any puzzle caches in my GPS either, so it didn't matter.
But all in all, if you are not in the mood for a power run in WB and just want to go away from the crowd in WB, Pike Powder is a must-do on your list of caches for that area. |

Here's my recommendations.
Forest Face I (GCPGXP)
-This will give you a taste of "offset" caches.
Forest Face II (GCPGXY)
-The most challlenging offset cache I have ever seen. LONG legs and not in an open park. Will truly challenge your "offset" skills
Waiting (GCV8ZY)
-Just a well designed "Mystery" cache. Will turn you into a detective to find the cache. Allow a little more time for this one.
Evil Monkey Visits Little Cedar Lake (GCP9RF)
-An evil monkey. Need I say more.
These are my recommendations!! Many of the others I would have chosen have been mentioned previously. Good luck and good hunting.

oooh I totally agree with Waiting - how could I forget that one! That is one of my all time favorites and the goodie at the end is really something special! |
