Let me start off by saying I am no fan of winter, but now that I have found geocaching I really have no patience for it.
I bought myself a HTC Droid Eris the other day and have discovered that its GPS capabilities and a little program called GEOBEAGLE I have a nice little GPS unit with3G capabilities, I am excited to see how well it will work this spring.........ok snow it's time to melt!

Don't give up on winter yet. I had a blast looking for caches last Janurary. 10 below out and a nasty wind wouldn't stop me. My first cache I ever tired finding was in winter. I was laying on my back on the ice of Little Lake Butte de Morts looking all around that dock for something that I hadn't had a clue on what it was or what I was looking for. Geocaching sure helped my cabin fever.

Actually I was just building a list on the geocaching website to download. I am picking mostly earth caches and a few that I am finding that say winter friendly. Going to Waukesha in Jan to visit the grandkids so may spend a little time trying to find a few on the way home.

I was loving winter caching until this recent rain put a nasty crust on the snow. Now it seems to be three times harder to walk in it, taking away much of the fun. If the crust would melt all would be good again!
