Sussex!

Anyone in the Sussex area that I could pick there brain on that snake like trail of caches you all have going on down there. I am thinking of making that my stop next friday, and have some questions on best places to park, biking it, etc.

So I guess what I really would like to know where the best place to start the bugline trail is if I want to hit as many of the caches in a day as possible. I havent looked at the whole list of caches yet, but are there any dependancy caches? Some of the bike shops here offer pickup of riders and bikes for a fee at the end of the trail and take you back to where you parked, are there any services like that offered around there? Any suggestions in general on other caches to hit in the area, I will be there for almost 2 full days.

I became interested after seeing the original post. I'm definatly going to hit this one so I made a bookmark list.

If you are in Sussex, you can just start down the trail in either direction. There are a few puzzle cache finals on the trail (you will have to figure out which ones!) and a couple multis in Memononee County Park right off the trail. If you are coming to cache, you could probably do most of it in a day. If you are doing this among other obligations (like work), well, it will take more than a few hours to find all of these. Additionally, there are several caches on the western end around the Merton Mill Pond that you might want to find while in the area.

As far as I know there are no such companies around that will pick you up also no dependency caches either.

Because the BugLine is so long I wouldn't park at one end and walk to the other. Biking yes, but then having a ride at the other end would be nice.

If I were you I would park at the Lannon Village Park near this cache
GC14JE6. From here you can walk into Menomonee Park and hit a big section of the Bugline.

Then park near this cache GC1RJQ0 and again get a few in both directions.

Then park in the Sussex Village Park GC1V1J8, do the park caches and a few Bugline ones.

Then park in the parking lot of this business parking lot near this cache
GC1P6TN.

Then go to Lisbon Community Park GCZJRC and do the many caches it has to offer, plus the Bugline caches.

For sure go to the Lisbon, Sussex and Lannon parks for the all have many caches close by.

A good place to start as any would be downtown Merton, north of the dam.

Another strategy would be to camp at Menomonee Park, and use your bike (not sure if campsites are open yet -- they are first come - first serve in season). The park has some nice hides.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone that gave suggestions and directions and helpful hints, about 5 hours of bike riding #500 milestone, 64 smileys and a handful of frowns, I had a blast.

You guys got some serious trees with 2 inch spikes coming out of them up there, what the heck are those things called? got one about half way thru the hand hehe. Guess that goes to show watch what your doing.

I will be back to do some more caching, lots more for me to find!
