It is a 2006 Scion Xb, drives like a go kart, and is bigger on the inside than it is on the outside!

Not as eye catching as the earlier versions...but the first time I could convince the wife to look at one..

Bimmer is a no-go. The miles were low, but the interior definitely showed it's age. The Civic was nice. Clean inside and out and comfortable to boot. The only downside I found was that the headrests were not very comfy, but how often do they get used, right? I guess it depends on how the other two contenders fare this weekend.

I have a 2005 Chevy Malibu, bought it with 21,000 miles on it. It now has 238,000 miles on it and it still has two payments left on it. Still doesn't leak a drop of anything underneath it. I might have gotten lucky, but I would buy another one in a heartbeat, and they are reasonably priced.

I did buy a 2007 Chevy Equinox for my wife yesterday though....she wanted to sit up higher. From what I have seen so far it is also a nice vehicle. OK, my plug for GM is over! Smile

Great choice, and you won't be disapointed with the 2.3L Turbo. Had it in my CX7 and that car screamed! Prolly nearly 700lbs heavier than the speed6 too. Just be careful getting into the turbo, it sux a lotta fuel and shreds tires!!!

Sadly, this is the VE (Value Edition) model. No turbo Sad Was still pretty fun to drive. I don't plan on doing any racing any time soon. And if I want to go fast, I'll just borrow the Cooper for a day Twisted Evil

Linky for those how want to see it: '08 Mazda6

Can't go wrong with that color, and even lacking the turbo, those are still fun to drive! Looks like a decent price at $11995. They most likely have $10.5k to $11k into it and it's worth every bit of the $16k asking price.

Things to look for:
Uneven front tire wear. The camber on these cars is set pretty tight, so the fronts can wear unevenly if the car has been driven hard by the previous owner.

Pop the hood and trunk and look at the fasteners that hold the front and rear fascias (bumpers) on and check for any damage to them. If several look like they've been removed, chances are the car had a body kit, and may have been driven hard in it's former life. Unlikely, but only takes a second to check.

GET A CARFAX! Most dealers will supply them for free.

Good luck, looks like a sweet new ride!!!

I like what Holiday does with their pricing. The 16K price is what other dealerships might sell it for. The 12K price is their bottom line. No haggling. Any trade in is additional. It's a nice feeling to know exactly what they'll take and not waste time saving arguing about a couple of grand.

They don't use Carfax at that dealership, they use AutoCheck. Same thing, but I guess it shows more records or something.

It was a rental, so I'm sure it was driven hard, even if it didn't have that body kit. It's still under manufacturer warranty, so if something breaks, I just hope it breaks in the next 3 year Smile

Good to know! I have a Saturn and that is how they did their pricing. Sadly, Saturn is ending its production and the dealerships have converted over to other GM brands (at least here in the Valley). I hated having to sit through the process "Let me check with my manager." etc. Like we both don't know what's happening. If other dealerships have this no haggle system, I would be interested in knowing which ones.

Scion works the same way. They call it "Pure Pricing".

We knew the number walking in the door, and the dealer knew it, so we never talked dollars until we were filling out paperwork, and they tried to get me for fabric coating and weather treatment nonsense....

$4200 in "protection plan" crap for my budget economy car?? NO THANKS!!
